I wake up to the sun shining on my face...
Oh, and the feeling of being watched.
Slowly, I turn my head to the side and see Dewey watching me. "Yes...?" I ask him, getting up on the bed.
"Nothing." He says, sitting up too. "The sun just makes you glow."
I blush at the compliment. And can't stop... "Do you think Athena liked her gift?" I ask, trying to change the subject.
He breathes in. "I think so. I think the 'not letting her sleep with Louie' thing really made sense now."
We didn't let Athena sleep with Louie because we wanted the two having their place all the sweeter.
"Remind me." I start. "To thank Webby for watching Turbo all the time."
Dewey hesitates. "It wasn't Webby."
What? But it's always her who watches Turbo. Who would-
"It was Liam." He finished.
Ever since I went out to the town and got drunk, Liam's been... distant from me. Not talking. I'm not sure why, though.
Did I say something to him?
"O- Oh... Well... I'll thank them both." I say less enthusiastic.
After some long silence, he speaks up. "Let's not worry about Liam now. Let's talk about whatever you wanna talk about!"
Only one thing pops to my mind. I don't know if it's because of the stress from Eve, or what. But...
"How's Matt?" I ask him looking outside the window.
Dewey hesitates again. "I- I don't know. He said he wanted to stay behind and help Emma be good, remember?"
But can Emma be good? She can't change. Not for the better, anyway.
Oh, Matt. I wish you were here...
--LATER--
I'm wearing Dewey's shirt again, just walking around the mansion, looking for something to do.
CRASH
"Fuck." I hear Liam's voice in the second kitchen. I run inside, praying he's okay.
"Liam?!" I yell.
I hear him let out a frustrated sigh. "Down here..."
I run and look behind the island. He's on the floor, cleaning up a broken plate. I look around and find a broom.
"Here..." I hand it to Liam and he nods a thank you.
The tension is so thick, I'm about to cry.
After Liam cleans it up and I throw it away, we sit on the couch, Liam resting his feet on the other couch next to it, while I sit normally. Not even talking... For a while.
"So..." I start. "Why have you been ignoring me?" It sounds like I don't care, but it's been killing me.
"What? I wasn't ignoring you. I just didn't have anything to say to you. There's a difference, Rookie."
Rookie... now I think of the time when he called me by my name.
"Well, there has to be a reason!" I push.
He rolls his eyes. "No. There isn't."
I huff. "Fine. I guess nothing I do bothers you."
He opens his mouth and stares at me, smoke fuming from his ears. "WH- SERIOUSLY?! I DIDN'T SAY THAT!" He yells, sitting up.
