LOUIE POV

I find my daughter asleep across Matt who was also asleep.

Apparently, my smell was ten times better now too, along with the tail, and I am able to find anyone by scent alone because of that.

So. Finding Matt and Eve hadn't been hard. Especially because Eve teleported the two to her room.

I lean against the door and smile sadly at the two.

After what I've seen with Athena, I hadn't the heart to make them move.

It was too cute an image, and I wished Eve's mother could see it.

She can you know.

Said a male voice in my head I knew all too well.

I quietly left them, and sighed deeply as I headed back to my room.

Game Master.

Like you can just project that image into her head.  I think back, sarcastically.

That's ALL I've been doing, Lou - Lou.  He thought back to me.

"DON'T CALL ME THAT!" I yell at him, out loud, making someone behind me clear their throat and making me jump.

I look behind me and see Huey.

"Who you talking too, Louie?" He asked, as he came into my room and shut the door quietly behind him.

I glare at him.

"No one." I lie.

Huey rolls his eyes.

"Still lying after all these years, Louie." He said, with a disappointed sigh.

So what if I was?

Not like it was an Earth shattering secret kept to us by our own brother, like how Dewey did with Mom, and I told Huey that as he sat down on the bed next to me.

"No. It's not. But -." He began, then hesitated, "I'm just asking because I'm worried about you. We all are." Huey told me. "It couldn't have been easy for you today, of all days, being without -." He stopped, and swallowed hard when he saw tears forming in my eyes.

I shake my head.

No.

It hadn't been easy, and it wasn't GOING to be easy either.

Not when I kept messing everything up.

For Eve.

For Zehra.

For Dewey, and now,

For Liam.

I sigh and flopped on my back to look up at the ceiling.

"It was no one YOU need to worry about, Huey." I told him. "It's MY problem, I'll handle it." I tell him.

Huey scoffed and I moved my head to glare at him.

"You SURE have been doing that well on your own." He tells me, and pulled at my tail that was aggravating him.  I yelped and snatched it out of hand.

"That HURT dummy." I snap at him.

"Maybe it would HURT enough to give you some common sense." Huey shot back. "NOT to do any more STUPID stunts like this again." He said, narrowing his eyes at my tail.

I groan loudly.

Huey was right.

He's the big brother of me and Dewey, the RESPONSIBLE one.
