Chapter 33

LOUIE POV

We decided to go to the woods behind the Manor, because we looked everywhere else.

But... We found her. She was laying in the cold, clothes loose on her, as if they had been stretched.

We brought her home, and I'm watching her sleep. I'm on my knees, resting my head on the bed.

Dewey and Zehra are watching Eve. When we can came back, Zehra had something else on her mind, but I know better than to question a girl with powers. Wouldn't want to get on her bad side. Not when we're becoming friends.

I grab Athena's hand in mine and rub her thumb. "You scare me, Athy... Why won't you talk to me...?" I whisper.

Am I doing something wrong? Is she loosing feelings? What am I supposed to do?!

I can't help if she won't talk to me! She needs to understand I'm here! I'll never leave her, or Eve. I'll ruin someone else's life for her. But she doesn't trust me enough to tell me what's on her mind. 

I won't get mad. Not at her. Not ever. But I need to know...

UGH! UNIVERSE! PLEASE! GIVE ME A SIGN THAT ATHENA STILL LOVES ME! TELL ME WHAT'S WRONG WITH MY GIRLFRIEND?!

I hear a knock on the door, and I turn around and see Zehra standing at the doorway.

"Lou... we need to talk." She says, holding her hand out. 

I look back at Athena and kiss her hand, letting her sleep some more. 

Zehra leads me downstairs, where Dewey is rocking sleeping Eve in his arms, waiting for us.

"What is it?" I whisper and sit across from the couple, taking my daughter back.

Zehra and Dewey exchange a look. "Louie..." Zehra starts. "Eve summoned Matt."

Eve coos and says, "Matt..." 

I sigh at my daughter, then look back at Zehra and she continues.

"She brought him to me because I asked what was wrong with Athena... And Matt told me. He told me that... Theo is using Doofus to get to Athena-"

"I KNEW IT! RAPE! AGAIN!" I fume, making Eve wake up and cry, saying "Matt" again, as if she just saw him.

She uses her powers to gag me. "Let me finish." She orders, her eyes glowing blue and flaming. "The prophecy is coming true. Emma is going to look for Eve, me and Athena will fight, and worse, I have no where to hide. I can't hide in the demon realm because of Emma. I know we 'can't' change the future... but maybe we can."

Dewey finishes for her. "We were thinking of bringing Auntie Goldie so she can help us think some things out. The whole gang. Back together. What do you say Lou?" Dewey asks, hope in his eyes. "For the sake of the girls? For the future? For the world... are you in?"

I freeze, not rocking Eve anymore, making her cry even louder. Zehra projects an image of Matt in front of Emma and she calms down.

Slowly, I open my mouth to talk... all eyes on me. 

"I..."

ATHENA POV

I open my eyes and feel someone in the room with me.

Not Louie.

Nor Zehra, or even Eve but...

I blink at the woman with golden hair and a frown hovering over my bed.

I tense up, the last time someone done this...

Images of both Doofus and Theo on top of me flash across my mind.
