Chapter 62- Zerha

MATT POV

"Daddy!" Eve cheers and hugs him.

We're in the living room, everyone trying to stay calm.

He gives her a sad smile and looks at me, and mouths. "Where is she?" 

I sigh and shake my head. "She left." I mouth back.

Louie has tears in his eyes and looks at his daughter. He knows that she left for him... he just doesn't know when she'll be back.

"Hey, Eve!" Donald starts. "Wanna play with me?" He's trying to distract her so me and Louie can talk...

But please don't Donald... He's gonna kill me!

After Donald and Eve leave the room, along with everyone else, Louie sits in the couch next to me.

"When will she be back?" He asks,m looking at the table where Eve left her teddy...

She's growing so fast. I got that teddy bear for her 2 days ago, and she's already getting too old for it. Eve's voice echos in my mind...

"That means I'm not to far off! Being your age!"

I smile...

"Then we can play more grown-up like games."

A steady blush rises to my face at the thought then I shake the thought away.

Once she's a teenager, around 14, she'll start aging normally, because technically, I'm 14... but Emma cast a spell on me, making me 16.

"I don't know..." I answer, looking at the tan teddy bear on the table, as if it's watching me.

Louie runs his hand through his bangs. "She has to be back soon. She'll miss Eve growing up!"

I tare my attention from the bear and to Louie. "She knows. Nothing will happen to her. Not if they want Heleli."

"WHAT?!" Louie yells making me jump.

Oh right!

"The Game Master wants Heleli so he can use her to fight Zehra." I answer, looking down, trying to avoid the feeling of fear settling in my stomach.  

Louie sighs. "Why do they have to fight...?" He asks more to himself.

"I'm more focused on what will happen to the winner..." I say meeting Louie's eyes. "How will she be affected?" 

Louie shakes his head. "We can't think like that. Until Athena comes back, we need to watch Eve, and make sure she doesn't forget her mom."

I nod.

He's right...

ZEHRA POV

"Where are we going on the date?" I ask Liam who sits in the drivers seat.

He puts on his seat belt, checks that I did mine and smiles at me. "Well, since this was unexpected, and I didn't plan anything, we're going to drive around and talk. We'll also get some food at a drive thru."

I laugh. "Alright!"

Liam raises his eyebrow and tilts his body so one hand is on the steering wheel and the other behind me seat. "Rules." He starts.

I roll my eyes. "Oh boy..."

"1: This is a Dewey free zone. 2: No talking about sad things, no Athena." He says gazing deep into my eyes, making sure I understand.

I take a deep breath. "Deal."

He smiles. "Alright then!"
