Chapter 6- Athena

ATHENA POV

You know? Liam doesn't look like a zombie. He just looks a little green, and his gray eyes are dilated. 

He groans when Heleli cuts his skin, carving x's onto it.

Wow... That's gross.

I shut my eyes while I drink my coke from the straw. It honestly doesn't even taste like coke, but she tried. The popcorn tastes like cardboard.

Liam's coated in sweat and blood. Ewwww...

Heleli smiles at her work and licks the blood off the knife.

"That good enough for ya, Athy?" Heleli asks.

"Yes." I reply and we switch back. "Thanks for handling this," I turn and smirk at Liam who only glared back at me. "Might as well get comfortable, Liam. You are gonna be here for awhile."

ZEHRA POV

I can't sleep. Even with Dewey sleeping soundly beside me.

I creep out of couch, Turbo follows me and out of the living room to get a glass of water.

On my way back I see Athena. She was climbing back up the stairs from the basement.

WHAT?!

What had she been doing down there?

I let her head back upstairs without bothering her and went to the basement door.

I tried to open it, but its locked.

Damn.

I press my ear to the door and hear scuffling on the other side.

Turbo growls at the door and scratches at it, then whines.

What could Athena be keeping in there?

I about to summon my power and blast the door down when -

"What are you doing?"

I jump and turn.

Athena is behind me, eyes glaring and arms across her chest.

Turbo gave a small bark but I quickly picked him up, and held him close to my chest shushing him.

"I - Sleep walking?" I lie, smiling sheepishly at her and step aside from the basement door.

"I seriously need to have Louie teach you how to lie." Athena says, rolling her eyes.

"Fine- I was -" I began, but was saved when Matt suddenly turns up.

He worn out, stressed, and rather upset. 

"Matt?" I ask, Athena glanced behind her and scowled.

Matt freezes when he sees both of us together.

Out of the corner of my eye I see Athena's nostrils flare up as she sniffs the air, almost like a she was smelling Matt.

"Seriously?" Athena said, her eyes wide in dismay as Matt fidgeted nervously under her intense stare.

I look from her to Matt then back again. Turbo gave a low growl surprisingly at Matt then Athena as if he was agreeing with her.

Uh. Oh.

"Guys. What -" I began, but Athena rushed at Matt before I can get a word on not to fight, but to drag him off in a nearby room.

I stare at the shocked as Matt gave me a horrified look as Athena pushed him inside and slammed the door shut behind them.
