Chapter 70 - Zehra

EVE POV 

I stare at Matt in shock. HE was the cause of mom being....

But...

I feel tears in my eyes and I let go of Matt and shake my head, tears threatening to fall. 

"Eve...." He tries to reach to me, but i back up to the end of the bench and start getting angry.

WHY?! I mean, I know the two didn't have the BEST relationship, but COME ON!

"Exactly, Eve..." Theo says to me. "He did it on purpose.."

Matt tries to ignore Theo, but I can't. He was telling the truth... wasn't he?

"I was." He replies.

"ARE YOU READING HER THOUGHTS?!" Matt snaps, looking at Theo who's grinning from ear to ear as I feel the ground start to shake.

Theo snickers as a "yes".

Soon, things start disappearing. Trees, lights, and I feel my heart beating rapidly. I start hyperventilating. 

"Eve." Matt scoots close to me and grabs my hand. but all I can do is stare at him, tears falling from my eyes. "Stay calm...!"

STAY CALM?! STAY CALM. WOW! SO HELPFUL!

Theo laughs, but it's hard to hear from the crash and rumbles. Guess he read my thoughts again.

I shake my head and narrow my eyes at Matt.

I can't believe him.

Why- HOW COULD HE?!

"EVE!" I hear dad call my name, but he's not here. I'm probably just imagining things. "EVE!!" I hear again.

Matt looks around like he heard it too. "Eve, look at me." He says. "You NEED to wake up!" 

I'm TRYING Matt. But it's hard....

"Wake up!" he says one more time and I disappear and appear in my bedroom, a strange light coming from beside me and dad shaking me awake.

LOUIE POV

There I was. Sleeping peacefully. Until a FUCKING EARTHQUAKE HAPPENED! I ran to Eve's room, because something in me told me it was her...

As I was heading to her room, the shakes and crashes become louder and more violent. A red light started glowing from next to her bed, and when I looked closer...

I saw it was a portal. In the portal... I saw Athena.

She was being beat by Theo. Whipped, chained, punched- 

I forced myself to look away. It can't be real... right?

"EVE!" I shake her, trying to be louder than her screams and cries. "EVE!!" Finally, she wakes up her eyes bloodshot and full of fear an danger, freaking me out.

She's hyperventilating, and I hear Matt running in. Of course he's shirtless.

He's in MY house. At least he can SOMEEE decency! Gosh!

"MATT!" I order. He runs up to me and for some reason, doesn't touch Eve like I expected.... Like they got in a fight or something. "You need to go get Zehra!" He shakes his head. 

"No! We need to stay here!" He argues.

I growl and feel like my head is spinning when I look into Matt's eyes. "I said, GET ZEHRA."

Matt's eyes glow then he runs out the room to find Zehra. 

Eve's eyes follow him as he leaves.
