Oh my fucking-

HOW AM I GOING TO TELL ATHENA?!

Maybe I shouldn't?

NO! It's the right thing to do...

But she'll be heart broken!

She'll be more heartbroken if I didn't tell her...

UGH!

I carefully make my way back outside, not even having to look.

I thought The Game Master was on our side! Why is he switching? It's not helpful... he gave me hope! Now what's gonna happen?

I come up to Athena and Liam engrossed in deep conversation. They immediately shut up when I come up, as if it was about me.

"Athena...." I start and look down to my feet. "I- Can I speak to you, please?" I say in a soft voice.

I look up, thinking I would see Athena, but instead I lock eyes with Liam. And his eyes ask the same question that caused me to go...

'Why did you say yes?'

I shake my head and look back at Athena. She looks concerned. "Y- Yeah, of course..."

I pull her aside and take a deep breath before talking...

ATHENA POV

"Um... I sort of ran into the Game Master as I headed towards the bathroom, and -." Zehra began, and swallowed hard when a low growl escaped my throat.

She glances over at Liam and I can tell that she was wondering why I brought him into our conversation.

"He -. He has Louie." She says

I stare at her.

In shock.

"Why would the Game Master have Louie?" Liam asks the question I couldn't.

Zehra stares at him and sighs before speaking.

"He wants Athena in exchange for him. Or -. Rather. He wants Heleli." She answers.

I clinch my jaw.

I hadn't been able to summon Heleli since I brought Liam back.

A trust me, I've tried.

"Why would he want that part of Athena?" Liam asks the question I could seem to ask.

"Because," Zehra replied, a bit irritated that Liam was the only one taking with her then me. I wanted to speak up, really, I did. But I could process what was being said after 'the Game Master has Louie,' bit. "He wants to use her to get us to fight."

I feel Liam tense up at that.

I could sense what he was thinking.

Should he go ahead and try and kill me like I asked him to?

Our eyes locked and I shake my head behind Zehra's back. He looked relieved. I'm guessing he didn't want to kill me, at least, not in front of the woman he had imprinted with.

The one who still didn't know Liam's true feelings towards her.

"It's -. It's okay. Zehra." I replied.  I slowly take something out of my jeans pocket, and handed it to her. She looks at it, then at me, with confusion. "Please. Watch over Eve for me, and - and Louie wants he gets back, and if I don't -. Give -. Give Eve this letter for me, when she's a teenager. I would really appreciate it." I tell her.

She stares at the small envelope in her hands for a long time.

I take that moment and looked over at Matt and Eve.

Matt sensed him being watched and looked towards me. Our eyes locked for a minute. His eyes darted from mine to Zehra's and back again before he started to get up quickly, startling Eve.

I quickly shake my head at him, and he froze, not knowing what to do.

Eve looked from both me, to Matt then back again, suddenly going quiet, as the table full of lively talking and chatter erupted into a roar of laughter at a joke Dewey had just told them.

I close my eyes, wanting to keep the image of this in my head, something to hold onto while I'm trying to delay the prophecy.

For them.

For Zehra.

For Matt and Eve.

For Louie...

If the Game Master wanted me.

He can have me. But I'm about to make it hard for him.

I sighed. Then opened them and started to walk away.

Zehra hears me walking away and her head snaps up.

"Athena... You aren't -" Zehra started to say, I paused, and looked back at her, and smiled sadly back at her before I started to take off running towards the woods before she had a chance to change my mind.

Tears ran down my face as I made it to the edge of the forest, my entire body trembled as I hear Theo's laughter in my head.

Come home, my Queen. I'll be waiting.  He says.

I glanced behind me, taking in one last look at the people I loved so dearly, before wiping the tears from my sleeve, and sprinted into the woods, images of each and everyone's face flashes through my mind as I ran, and I knew Zehra would hear these last words I think before I enter the demon realm.

One sentence that brought more tears to my eyes.

Good-Bye. Everyone. I love all of you...

MATT POV

I watched shocked as Athena runs into the woods. What just-

"Mommy...?" Eve says looking at the same thing as me.

What do I-?

"She-" I pause and smile down at Eve. "She'll be okay, Princess. You're mom is a queen." I say smiling and looking back at the spot she was at with Zehra.

My eyes shift to my sister who's holding an envelope, in her hand, tears silently falling down her cheeks.

I leave Eve to continue playing with Turbo as I walk to Zehra and place a hand on her shoulder.

"She- Left..." Zehra's voice breaks.

I sigh and look down at my feet. "For us..."

Zehra shakes her head and looks mad. "She was supposed to WAIT. We were going to solve this...!

She has a point. That's the whole point the girls aren't fighting right now.

They ARE going to find another way...

They have to.

Athena will outsmart The Game Master, and we will all be able to look back at this and laugh.

R- Right?

Everything will be okay...

Zehra scoffs. "Whatever you want to call it. She left, and I'm not going to forgive her for this..."

I flinch at that.

All this... it's leading up to the fight...

This was all part of his plan...

Maybe we can't outsmart The Game Master...
