“We’re here,” Vince announced after the long ride. I looked around and I saw many children outside. I blinked my eyes.

“Where are we?” I asked. Looking around but still seeing children.

“Ma’am, nasa Makati ho tayo ngayon,” Kuya Billie answered.

“What are we doing here po?” I asked.

“We’ll see.” Vince winked at me, he went out of the car. I carried my bag before walking out of the car too. The children looked at him, they immediately ran towards him and greeted him. They were all surprised by seeing him.

“Hello po, Kuya Matthew!” they greeted him in unison. I smiled at that sight.

“Hello, kumusta na kayo?” he tapped one of those children’s head with a huge smile.

“Ayos lang po!"

“Oh, si Bujoy, nasaan na?” he asked, wandering his gaze around.

“Nasa loob po, umiiyak dahil may aampon na raw po sa kanya.” A girl answered.

“Oh,” Vince nodded as he avoided their gazes. The children became silent as their gazes were turned to me. Napaatras naman ako sa pagkapahiya. It seems like Vince saw that, he made his way out of the children as he held my hand and pulled me closer to him. “I’m with her, she’---“

“Siya po ba girlfriend niyo? Si Ate Marra?” a little boy asked. I took a big gulp as my eyes slowly widened. I looked at Vince and I can see how embarrassed he is. He looked at me defensively, and he returned his look at the little boy.

“Nonoy, hindi siya si Ate Marra niyo,” Vince said.

“Oo nga, Nonoy! Wala naman siyang bangs ‘tsaka hindi naman singkit si Ate Marra, eh.” The girl earlier nudged the little boy named Nonoy. Oh, so he showed Ate Marra's picture to them too?

"Ah, baka 'yong lagi niyang ikinikwento sa atin! 'Yong best friend niya!" Nanlaki ang mga mata ko. He mentioned me before to them?

“Siya si Shanel, asawa ko,” Vince said, pointing at me with a smile. I just nudged him and encircled my eyes at him. The children gasped and Vince laughed out.

“Uh, n-no---“

“Hi, Ate Ganda!” Nonoy waved his hand and gave me a tiny yellow flower. I smiled at him and accepted it. “Sabi ni Kuya Matthew, ‘pag nakita na raw namin 'yong babaeng magpapatibok sa puso namin nang sobrang bilis at 'yong babaeng sure kami na mamahalin namin habang-buhay, ibigay raw namin sa kanya ‘tong ganitong bulaklak,” he said, making me purse my lips. But then a smile came out.

“Ayiiieeeh!” the children teased us. I couldn’t help but to giggle because of that. I pinched his chubby cheeks and that made him blushed.

“Ehem!” Vince faked a cough, lowkey pulling me closer to him by pulling the hem of my jacket. “She’s your Ate Shanel, she’s my… crush,” he said, making the cute children tease us again.

“Eh ano si Ate Marra? Akala ko ba siya ang girlfriend mo? Dala-dalawa ka naman Kuya Matthew, eh!” Nonoy protested, pouting his cute heart-shaped lips just like Vince’s.

“Look, Marra and I broke up,” he said, making the children yell. “Okay, quiet.” The children became silent while waiting for him to speak again. “You know that I am just seventeen. Bata pa ako, at hindi lahat ng nakikilala ko sa buhay ko ay para sa akin talaga hanggang dulo.” He then looked at me. “May mga bagay na sa una lang natin aakalakin na para sa atin at kaya nating i-maintain hanggang dulo. At meron namang sa una ay hindi natin nakikita ang halaga pero sa kalagitnaan ay malalaman na nating ito na ‘yon, ito na 'yong kaya kong panghawakan hanggang sa dulo…
