I looked at my long hair. It was already a year since I had my latest haircut, and I think I need one today.
"Sure ka na ba rito, bibi?" the girl that will cut my hair asked. I smiled at her through the mirror and nodded. She was about to cut it off but I moved away.
"Hala, sorry po! I can't!" I apologized, putting the sections of my hair in front of my shoulders. I looked at it and saw how long it is. Umabot na 'yon ng hanggang bewang and I can't afford to lose it.
"Sabi sa 'yo, eh. Mahirap pakawalan ang isang bagay na matagal mong pinaghirapan," she said and started combing my hair. I looked at her in the mirror.
"Ako po ba ang iintindi sa inyo or kayo ang nakakaintindi sa akin?" I asked. She glanced at me and creased her forehead. Natawa naman ako doon bago mag-peace sign. "I am just kidding po."
"I love you na talaga! Look how cheerful you are!" she exclaimed, "Maganda naman ang buhok mo, Sis. Mukha lang walang kailangan gawin pero sa totoo lang, may mga split ends talaga siya." She showed me the tip of my hair and smiled. "Iti-trim ko na lang siya at Brazilian Blowout para maayos."
"Thank you po!" I said and smiled.
By the way, I am here sa salon na ni-recommend sa akin ni Ate Xyle. She told me that it was owned by Kuya Calvin's cousin.
"Ate, how's Kuya Calvin na nga po pala? Is he alright?" I already introduced myself to her earlier and she welcomed me warmly.
"Ayy, oo! Nakahanap ng trabaho, actually, kinuha ng Papa niya sa kumpanya para maging Chief Marketing Officer, siya na rin ang nagpapa-aral sa mga kapatid niya at may pinatatayo na rin silang bahay sa Manila," she said while preparing the things we will be using.
"Oh, that's a good thing po. But how about their house here?" I asked.
"'Yon na nga, eh. Kaya naiinis si CJ kay Tita Cat, ayaw iwan ang nakagisnang pamumuhay," she said. "Wala namang masama, pero sumasama rin ang loob ng Kuya CJ mo kasi pangarap niya 'yon para sa mama at kapatid niya tapos tatanggihan naman ni Tita."
"Kuya Calvin is a very good son and brother, I wish I also have a kuya," I whispered. She smiled at me and nodded.
"Si Xyle, kumusta?" she asked. "Nakita ko na siya dati. Ang limit niya ngang magpa-salon dito dati pero simula noong magkagalit sila ni CJ, hindi na bumalik. Nakaka-miss tuloy 'yin!"
"She's fine po, almost a week since she went to Sydney for a fashion show," I answered.
"Ah gano'n ba 'yon? Sana maging successful siya." She started trimming my hair.
May came, it has been almost four months and I am still doing my best to live my life just like before... before he came, before I met him, before he came to make me fall and before he broke my heart.
A little flashback from what happened after that day...
"Gago ka ba?! Why did you do that to her?!" I almost stopped breathing after seeing Ken, holding Vince Matthew's collar. I blinked my eyes rapidly. Zeus' just glaring at him while clenching his fists.
He didn't answer Ken and just stared at Audrey, beside Iryn who looks very disappointed.
"Alam mo, Matthew? Nagsisisi akong nagtiwala kami sa 'yo!" Demi said, crossing her arms.
"Sana hindi namin hinayaang madapuan ng kamay mo si Brey." Audrey added.
"Your friends really love you, Shanel," bulong sa akin ni Ate Sharly na siyang umaya sa akin papunta rito at para panoorin ang nangyayari sa mga kaibigan ko at sa kaniya. We're just hiding behind the bush and I am preventing myself from running out and stop them.
