Chapter 17.2: Book and Wish
If only I had my phone, I wouldn't be this bored!
When I saw Vince, carrying the paper bag of what we bought in the National Bookstore and holding a tray of food, I stood up to help him. I took the tray from him and he didn't protest. Two orders each of rice, ice creams, fries, chicken sandwiches, coke floats, and fish fillet.
"Bakit? Anong problema?" he asked, napangiwi naman ako. I'm hesitating to tell him. Baka sabihin niya na maarte or choosy ako. I should appreciate his efforts of treating me lunch. I should not complain, right? "Ayaw mo ng fish fillet?" he asked and raised his left eyebrow,
"N-No, no!" I said, still hesitating to tell him.
"Don't tell me..." I saw how his eyes slowly widened. Tumayo siya at iniwan ako. He went to the counter again and when he returned, he's already holding a plate with a one-piece chicken on it. He handed it to me and took the fish fillet out of my plate.
Yes, I do have allergies to sea foods.
"I'm sorry, I'll just pay you later." I saw him pray first, so I did the same thing. And after that, we ate our late lunch peacefully.
"No, you don't have to pay. It's my treat. And don't be sorry, it's my fault for not asking you about your allergies," he said with an apologetic look.
We finished our lunch and before we left the mall, I took a last glance at the National Book Store... My most awaited book.
While walking through the University, we're sipping in our coke float; we're eating our fries too.
"Wait, hindi ka ba hinahanap sa movie booth?" I asked out of a sudden, he sipped on his coke float first before answering.
"Nope," he answered shortly. He's carrying the paperbag of photo papers on his left arm and holding the umbrella using his right hand, while he's using his left hand to hold the Coke float. We decided to buy food for him, since being a guard is a hard duty and work. "Dito ka nga," he pulled my wrist and we exchanged positions. He put me on the safe side of the sidewalk. I smiled and bit my lower lip to suppress it.
What a protective man?! Lalo tuloy akong nahuhulog sa kaniya.
Nang makarating kami, I sat down on the swivel chair as I remembered that book again. I continued my work in the photo booth, and Vince came back to the Movie booth. I can't forget his reaction when he knew that I'm allergic to seafood. He panicked.
This time, we changed our jobs. George is the photographer, Bea is the one who's laying out the pictures, Gabby is cutting the printed pictures and I'm accommodating the clients.
I saw three guys coming, so I stood up.
"A-Ah, photo shoot? Magkano?" the tallest guy asked. I chuckled a bit when I heard him stutter. I pointed to the printed paper on the door and he looked at it. He blushed after that.
"Nakakahiya ka, pre! Nabu-bulol ka?!" asked the guy behind him. This guy I'm talking to is wearing a Crimson Cavaliers like me, the guy who shouted is Black Brawlers and the other guy is Crimson Cavaliers too, the one in legal management and the part of the journalism club.
