Chapter 16: Acting Spree
It's been two months since plan D was established. Just like what he stated about plan D, we made it. Naging secret admirer si Vince and I am the one who's giving his letters to Ate Marra.
But I can't deny the fact that I'm slowly falling in love with Vince Matthew.
He got it all! Looks, check! Attitude, check! Sense of Humor, check! Everything about him was so accurate. I like it! I like him. But we all know that he's in love with Ate Marra.
"'Wag ko na kaya ituloy?" I looked at him, he's looking forward while walking. We go to school together, that's one of our daily routines. It was fun, but again, I'm falling deeply in love with him. "Parang ayoko na ituloy ang plano ko," he said and that caught my attention.
"Why?" I asked, looking at him straight while ascending the stairs.
"Kakatamad na," he said. I can see the hesitancy in his eyes so my brows shot up. "At parang..." he stopped. I stopped walking as well to face him, pinagtaasan ko pa siya lalo ng kilay. I saw him stepping back, mukhang nagulat or natakot or what.
"Don't give up on Ate Marra," I said while still looking at his face. "You like her, right? Since, you've already started it, might as well finish it," I uttered with a sincere smile. He looked at me and gave me a small smile. His unreadable reaction made my mind inquisitive.
"K," he said and turned straight, I followed him since our destinations have the same route. I heaved a sigh when I couldn't think of a topic. The silence is so unbearable for me. It was so suffocating that if I didn't think of a topic, it would strangle me to death. "Malapit na intramurals week ng Villamonte University." He started the topic and I smiled. At least it eases my thoughts.
"Yeah, a week to go," I said. Time flew so fast and it was so inconspicuous.
"Yeah," he answered. He took something inside his bag and it was a pink envelope. I looked up to him with a surprised look. "Just give this to Marra. That's the twenty-fourth letter I gave her," he said. And wow! He counted it?
"Sure, later when recessional time comes. I'll give it to her." I smiled before proceeding in our classroom.
"Good morning!" Gabby greeted me but I just ignored her. I went straight to the comfort room to read the letter.
'Hi, Marra, it's me again! For the twenty-fourth time, I wanted to tell you how much I like you. Yes, I like you! Maybe you're already wondering who I am. But I can't expose my real identity for now. Yet I'll make sure that sooner or later, I'll confess.
From, Anonymous'
If I were Ate Marra, I would appreciate these letters that Vince is giving her.
"You're so lucky, Ate Marra," I whispered to myself while slipping the letter inside my blazer's pocket. I left the comfort room and took my seat. Audrey, Janee, Gabby, Zeus and Ken were seated on the floor while copying each other's assignments.
"Good morning!" I greeted with an energetic smile.
"Good morning, Brey," they greeted in unison and got back to what they're doing. There are lots of changes that happened in our friendship. Given the fact that Vince joined our group, Janee's obsession with Dwayne is now over, Gabby got a suitor named Kyden but she keeps on rejecting him, Audrey and Zeus are still distant. I guess Audrey's so-called space can take up to a year or two. Maybe she's still hurting. Zeus, Ken and Vince became best of best friends. I never thought that they would be close, knowing that a tension was formed when they first shared tables.
