"Hindi mo pa rin ba nahahalata, Shane?" he asked, slowly leaning forward to me but I keep on stepping back. "All along, I thought I was too obvious because of my specially-shown-for-you gestures. How I look at you, how I smile because of everything you do, how I look too shy when you're around, how I act when we're together, how I speak when I am with you, how I do things when it's you with me.
“I don’t know when it started exactly. Did it only came by me when Marra and I broke up or is it here when I first saw you? But I already like you. This is no joke, no acting, no pretension. Darn, it's already coming true.
"My plan all along is to make Marra see that I am no man who can't be moved. I know that it's wrong to use you, but these happened. I like you, Shanel Breyanna Cortez---I love you.
"And I am declaring myself guilty for loving you, Shane."
A-Am I hearing it right? My eyes widened after he told those words to me. I stared at him, I tried to analyze his face but I can't focus. I looked around and saw no one around. There's no Ate Marra's classmates nor friends. It's late in the afternoon and everyone's maybe home already? I looked at him again and swallowed the lump in my throat.
"V-Vince, what's this?" I asked. He took my cold and shaking hand as he put a folded stationary paper there.
"Read that after you got home, Shane," he whispered with a genuine smile.
"A-Are you serious about what you said?" I asked again. He nodded while maintaining our eye contact.
"Yes," he answered."Let's go, ihahatid na kita sa inyo dahil wala si Kuya Billie," he said. He took my bag and carried it. He pulled my hand and intertwined it with his as we walked side by side with each other.
He opened the car's door for me, I thanked him before sitting there. I fixed my seatbelt with a small smile in my lips. I tied my hair with my pony tail when I feel how hot it is. He put on his seatbelt too and started the car's engine with a smile before turning his car's radio on.
I wandered my gaze around, it has been a long time since I rode in his car. I smiled when I remembered his confession earlier. So this is how it feels like when the person you love confesses that he loves you too? It feels so surreal and fascinating.
My smile suddenly disappeared when I saw my picture on his car's dash board. That was my picture in the home for the homeless, it is when I am reading a book for the kids. Wait, so he took a picture of me?
"Yah!" he said out loud when I was about to take that photo. "Bakit mo aalisin?" he asked and touched my left hand with his right hand.
"That's so epic," I said and was about to take my photo again but he pulled my hand and kissed it. My eyes widened and blinked rapidly.
"No, I love seeing you with children. You're like an angel that fell from the sky," bulong niya at pinag-siklop na naman ang mga kamay namin. While his left hand's holding the steering wheel.
"Y-You're an aspiring l-lawyer. Right? You should know that t-taking photos without consent is illegal." I stuttered, shems!
"Then put me in jail, Miss," he replied, chuckling a bit. He let go of my hand to turn on the stereo.
I smiled and held his hand tighter, napasulyap siya sa akin kaya nag-iwas ako ng tingin. I stared at the buildings we blurred past by.
We reached our aimed place. He pulled the car beside a white van here in Calbrins. Sabay kaming bumaba ng kotse at pumasok sa loob ng restaurant. My eyes widened after seeing the petals of roses around every corner of the restaurant, there were also red and light pink balloons on the ceiling, there were violinist playing some random sweet songs and a round table in the middle with so many delicious and mouth-watering foods.
