I took a deep breath as I entered the huge building of the Veronimos. The Veronimo's Law Firm is one of the highest-paid law firms in the country and for the record, Tita Venice, which won more or less than 50 cases inside the court is the highest-paid lawyer in the Philippines. And fourth is Tito Leonard. They were two of the best lawyers from what people often talk about.

I wandered my gaze around and when I see the reception, I slowly walked there.

"Miss, I am Shanel Cortez, for the record. Tita---Attorney Venice Mallari-Veronimo messaged me earlier saying that we should see each other. May I know where to see her?" I asked the receptionist. She just looked gently at me and smiled.

"May I see the text message, it's a protocol po kasi na 'wag basta tumanggap ng visitors." I nodded and took my phone. I showed her the text message that Tita Venice sent me. She checked for the number too and she called someone on the telephone. I looked at my phone to see the text message that I received from Ate Shanty.

From: Ate Shanty
Shanel, where are you?

I just replied to her and told her that I am in the Veronimo's Law Firm.

"Miss, you can wait on the fourth floor. Nasa isang briefing pa raw po sila Attorney." She stepped out of the reception desk and assisted me. She pressed the elevator button and we went inside.

The travel inside the lift was so quiet not until Ate Shanty called me.

I answered it immediately,

"Hello, Ate, let us talk later. I am still he---"

"Anong ginagawa mo d'yan? Are you there to see Matthew? Nandito siya sa Calbrins, kasama si Brent." My forehead creased.

He's with Kuya Brent? What the hell? I just can't believe that they used to be enemies and now they're going out together?

"Loving the same person isn't easy, Ate. Maybe they have just decided to get to know each other and date rather than fighting for Ate Marra's heart. I gotta go---"

"Gaga! Hindi sila nagde-date! Bakit ka nga nand'yan?" she asked.

"I'm here to meet Tita Ven. She messaged me and told me to see her. Just that, okay? Bye---"

"Bilisan mo, ako na ang susundo sa 'yo d'yan."

"Ate, no need. I can comm---"

"Or ipapasundo kita kay Matthew. Kausap ko siya ngayon, sinabi kong nandiyan ka sa la---"

"Ate! That's so inappropriate!" I exclaimed. I saw the receptionist looked at me. I bit my lower lip before I looked at her apologetically. She just smiled at me. The bell ring and the door opened. "I must hang this up, bye. Take care,"

"Shanel---"

I casually got out of the elevator together with the receptionist. I looked around and I can't help being intimidated by how professional these people inside this building were. Look at those corporate attires and jewelries they have. They were all looking so professional while here I am, wearing a simple shirt, pants and sneakers.

"Ma'am, you can sit here while waiting. If you need something, that's the telecom." She pointed at the nearest telecom. I nodded my head and smiled at her.

"Thank you po," I said. She just nodded at me and gave me one last smile before going back inside the elevator.

I looked at the fancy couch where she assisted me to sit on. I just sat there comfortably and browse on my phone. But I immediately got bored so I just took the magazine underneath the coffee table. It was an HTR magazine wherein Ate Xyle's fierce face is at the cover of it. I smiled and looked onto those pages.
