Chapter 58

Ruby's POV

"Here you go!" Wayne grinned as he passed me my drink, obviously leaving Beau to collect the others which made me giggle.

"When are they coming on?" Jai questioned anyone that was listening.

"About 20 minutes." I smiled as I saw Beau coming back, his face like thunder.

The time went by in a flash and before we knew it, the band were out on the stage and had began the gig - starting with "Decode".

"I'm going out for a cigarette, do you want to come?" Wayne asked me.

"Oh, I don't smoke." I said, kind of surprised that he did but I suppose he couldn't of completely changed from before.

"Just keep me company then." He smiled, taking my hand before I could refuse, though I didn't mind o be honest.

We stood outside for a few minutes, the cold air hitting us in a refreshing way as it was above boiling inside there. I looked over to another group of boys stood nearby and realised Jake was standing with them.

"Jake!?" I called before I realised what I was doing.

He turned around and gave me a smile, looking a bit surprised to see me there. "You alright?" He smiled as his eyes flickered between me and Wayne.

"Not too bad, and this is Wayne by the way." I said as I introduced them.

"Oh hi, is this your-" He began but I interrupted him before he could embarrass us.

"He's my friend, we've know each other for years." I smiled, looking at Wayne.

"Ahh nice, are you here alone?" He asked awkwardly, obviously not knowing what to say to us.

"We're here with the Janoskians, and Danni of course." I smiled. "Who are you with?" I returned the question, hearing Wayne silently laugh at the awkwardness which almost set me off.

"Just my mates," He started, grabbing their attention. "Reece, Olly, Ryan and Damon."

"Nice to meet you." Damon smiled as he shook my hand - very gentlemanlike.

"Well, we better get back inside now. We should meet up or something." Jake smiled, saying goodbye as his and his friends headed back inside..

"That was bloody hilarious, most awkward situation I've been in for a while. Who even is he anyway?" Wayne laughed.

"My ex," I said uncomfortably.

"Oh, that'll be why then." He smirked. "Do you need one after that?" He asked, offering me a cigarette but I declined.

Wayne looked over to the door before quickly stamping out his cigarette. "Can I ask you a hide favour?" He said quickly.

"Sure?" I replied.

"Can you kiss me, my ex is over there and she thinks I'm a low life that can never get a girlfriend. I just want to prove a point." He asked, almost looking desperate.

"For you." I laughed, only expecting a quick peck on the lips but instead receiving more of a French kiss.

"Ruby?" I heard a male voice say from behind me, turning around instantly to see Beau's shocked face.

He quickly turned around to go back in but Wayne stopped me from following him, pulling my arm. "Just leave him." He smirked.

I tried to break free again but his grasp got harder. "You're hurting me Wayne." I whimpered but he just continued to smirk at me.

How could I not see it coming? He hasn't changed at all.
