Ruby's POV
"I'm just going down to the shop, anyone need anything?" I asked as I popped my head around the kitchen door.
"Doritos!" Beau shouted, making us laugh at his rapid reaction.
"Alright, I'll only be about 5 minutes." I said, turning my back on them as i headed down the hallway and out of the front door.
It was beginning to get dark outside already but there was always light in London, unless of course there was a big power-cut but that was unlikely. I took my time, scanning each part of the street and refreshing my memory of the area since it had been a while since I last stayed down here.
After only a few minutes I arrived the local shop and entered, only one or two other people in the shop - it was all eerily quiet.
I took a deep breath, quietly picking a few items from the shelves as I started to feel a sense of fear wipe over me, I figured it must've just been the quietness and darkness of the shop, since London was never like this.
"Boo!" I heard a deep voice come from behind me as a big hand thudded down on my shoulder, making me shriek.
I turned my body to face the man, not really knowing what to expect since it wasn't like I knew anyone else that lived around here, and then I looked up; the face hitting me instantly. It was Wayne.
He had changed so much since I had last seen him, his hair has grown and was styled in a quiff, similar to Luke's but shorter. His face was completely shaved and he was wearing nice clothes - no trackies or chavy clothes - he had completely changed.
I gently scratched my cheek as I always did when I was nervous, trying to cover the slight blushing I could feel occurring beneath my skin which made him smirk slightly.
"You look so...different." I managed to say quietly.
"Good different, yeah?" He laughed, pushing his hair upwards.
"Why are you here?" I asked, avoiding his question as I didn't exactly want to be getting friendly with him after what he had done.
"To see you... I heard you were back with him." He said scanning the shelves, scowling as he said the word "him".
"You ruined my relationship with Luke and our chance of ever being friends again." I said bluntly, talking about Wayne and I, which he knew immediately. "But yes, now I'm back with him so I won't let you near me again."
I walked past him, towards the counter and paid for the few items I had picked up, exiting the shop in hope that he wouldn't follow me. As soon as I stepped outside he was instantly behind me, pulling my arm back and stopping me from walking any further.
"I didn't come all the way here for nothing." He said sharply, his hair brushing down onto his forehead.
"I just don't understand, why have you changed so much?" I asked, knowing I might as well try to get some answers out of him while I could.
"Because I'm done with that shit in the past and I'm a better person for it. I think I'm finally someone that you'll like, please give me a chance." He said innocently, stepping closer to me.
I looked down, I didn't know what to say. He was making out as if he had changed just for me. "Give you a chance at what?" I asked.
"Being friends," He smiled. "That's all I want now, and for you to forgive me. I just loved you that's why I did what I did, but now I know my place."
I nodded, he really seemed like a different and more kind person. I couldn't just turn him away now could I?
"Luke won't want you at ours, he kind of hates you." I said, making him laugh for some reason.
"I could say the same." He smirked. "Do you know any hotels? We could meet up tomorrow and talk properly now that you'd be able to be seen in public with me." He said, making me chuckle.
"Okay, there's one up that road and on the second left. I'll text you later." I smiled, not believing I had just arranged to meet up with the boy that tried to break Luke and I.
I arrived back at the apartment and let myself in with my key, dropping the bags onto the kitchen counter and shouting for the others to help me.
"Took your time." Luke smirked, pulling out the drinks from one bag as Beau dived straight in for the Doritos in the other.
I chose to ignore Luke's comment, I couldn't exactly tell him I'd just been chatting to Wayne. "Shit." I let out, not meaning to, remembering about Jake and what state he had left in.
"What's up with you?" Beau questioned me as he brushed the crumbs from his shirt.
"Jake - I was going to go and apologise to him. I'll have to go now, he needs to hear what happened from me." I said, picking up my keys from the counter and pacing into the hallway.
"But we were about to watch a movie!" Luke whined, pulling me back from my waist.
"I'll try to be quick, promise." I smiled, kissing his nose and rushing outside. I made my way to Jake's house in not long since he was staying at my other apartment for tonight.
I knocked at the door, trying to prepare myself but my my mind was blank from ideas, all I hoped was that he would forgive me.
