Ruby's POV

"Hello Miss Brooks." I heard a familiar voice from behind me giggle. I turned my head to see my old friend Grace.

"GRACE!" I shouted, slinging my arms around her neck and hugging her. "It's been so long!"

"I know, too long! Are you having a happy birthday?" She smiled, handing me a card and small gift.

"Yeah thanks, it's been great so far. Who invited you?! I tried to find you on facebook, twitter and everything but I couldn't." I explained as we took a seat together at a nearby table.

"Your mum somehow found my parents number, I don't even know. I've missed you though." She smiled, hugging me again. "So Luke Brooks hey?! How?" She asked, making me laugh.

"Long story short, we met before the concert, slept over at their hotel, became best friends, started dating. Now I say that it sounds pretty unbelievable actually." I laughed.

"You have to get me in with James." She winked, standing from her chair. "I'll leave you alone now, I could only pop in for a bit. Have a great day and see you around. Your parents have my number." She said, pulling me into a hug.

I said goodbye to her and headed towards the toilets. I was suddenly stopped by the side of the room, around the corner where it was a little quieter. I turned around to see a tall boy that had stopped me, he seemed familiar.

"Hello Ruby." He smirked down at my as he let go of my arm. Then it hit me, I knew who he was.

"Wayne?" I whispered, looking up at him. "What are you doing here?" I said a little louder.

He shrugged, looking me up and down, still smirking. He made me feel sick. I had knew him since primary school and he had always been a trouble maker, I had tried to stay away from him since the terrible night two years ago.

"You look very nice." He stated, putting his hand on my waist. I pushed him off, stepping backwards in disgust.

"Can you please leave? It's friends only." I said, his face still smirking at me intimidatingly.

"Nah, I was thinking about sticking around." He said casually. "You wouldn't want Luke to find out about our little hit and run incident would you?" He smirked.

"What? You wouldn't - wait how do you know about Luke?" I asked, beginning to get frustrated.

"Everyone does." He laughed mockingly. "Actually I was thinking you should come to mine tomorrow." He said, making me feel sick.

I nodded, I couldn't let Luke know about what I had been a part of. He would hate me. "Right whatever, I think you should leave now. I'll text you tomorrow." I said.

"Good girl, see you tomorrow." He smirked, stroking my cheek with his finger. I paced into the bathroom after he had gone, fighting the tears that collected in my eyes. Luckily there was no one else in the bathroom but I decided to go into a cubicle anyway.

I sat on the seat for a minute, resting my head against the wall before hearing my name being called from outside of the bathroom.

"Will the birthday girl make her way to the front?" A deep voice called through the microphone. I quickly unlocked the door, touching up my makeup and headed outside, pacing towards the front and past all of the smiling faces.

"Here she is!" My dad said through the microphone with a smile on his face. I stood behind the table, my dad on the other side with all of my friends and family stood behind him. The lights dropped and there was silence for half a second before the singing began.

"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to Ruby, happy birthday to you!" They all sang loudly as my mum brought in a beautiful double tiered iced cake, covered in small pink roses and candles.

I leaned down, blowing out the candles and closing my eyes to make a wish. The room was filled with cheers, claps and smiles, making me feel ecstatic.

I hugged all of the people around me, wishing me happy birthday and thanking them. The music was turned on and we all all started to dance, laughing and just having a great time.

After another couple of hours the party ended and everyone went home, it was one of the best nights of my life - I just wished Danni, Luke and the other boys could've been there.
