Ruby's POV
Today was the day. The day my best friend and boyfriend were leaving for two weeks. I know it doesn't sound like much but it is.
The clock hit 5pm, the flight was in 4 hours and they has to get there 2 hours early, only leaving me with 2 more hours with them. I helped fold the last few pieces of clothing into Luke's case, zipping it up for him as he checked the bathroom in case he missed anything.
"Nope, all ready!" He exclaimed, I could tell he was pretty excited, the opposite of me.
"How shall we spend our last two hours then?" Jai asked, pulling his suitcase from his bed and onto the floor.
"How about a nice romantic meal at McDonalds, like when we first met." Beau laughed.
"Sounds like a date!" I laughed and everyone else agreed, pulling their suitcases toward the door.
I opened the door, allowing everyone to pass before shutting it and making our way down the hall for the last time. So many memories were made down here.
"So do we have to drag our suitcases to McDonalds?" James moaned, making me laugh at him.
"I don't! Perks of being left in England." I joked, making James pretend to hit me.
We walked into McDonalds, getting some very weird looks from people as they saw 6 suitcases being pulled along behind us. I went to find us our previous seat, which was luckily free, with Jai, Danni, James and Daniel as the other two went to make our orders.
"I'll miss you." Danni said, sticking her bottom lip our at me.
"I'll miss you more." I replied, doing the same thing. "You have to all pinky promise me to FaceTime whenever you can." I said, holding my pinky to everyone, which they all took.
Luke and Beau came over, holding two trays of food for us all and sitting down at the table. We tucked into our food, reminiscing about the day we had first met, laughing about Danni fainting and having to run to first aid. It didn't feel like only a couple of days ago, it was like we'd known them for years.
We spent another hour and a bit there before we got a taxi to the airport. We climbed out of the taxi, giving the driver the money and walking into the airport. I waited in line with them to get their bags checked in and to weigh the hand luggage.
Then it was the time I had dreaded, time to say goodbye. I hugged Danni tightly, trying to hold back the tears that collected in my eyes. "I'll call everyday." She whispered as we pulled away from the hug and smiled at each other. Then I hugged Beau, telling him to look after Danni as if I was her mother. Then Jai, Daniel and James, slowly I could feel a lump building in my throat.
Lastly I hugged Luke, tears escaping my eyes and rolling down my cheeks, I didn't want to let go of him. "Don't cry, we'll be together again before you know it." He smiled, cupping my face and wiping the tears from my face with his thumbs.
He crashed his warm lips onto mine and we held a passionate kiss before he had to go through to security. We hugged tightly once more before being dragged away by his brothers, waving at me every few seconds before he was out of sight.
I turned around, taking a deep breath to stop my tears, and headed towards the airport exit. I hailed a taxi that was parked nearby, climbing in and asking to go to the train station. The realisation that the excitement was over suddenly hit me, but I had to stay positive. I didn't want to look like hell for my birthday party.
The cab pulled up outside of the train station and I handed him the money, climbing out and slinging my bag over my shoulder. I bought a ticket from the desk and boarded the train, sitting alone in a double seat.
I felt a buzz from my bag so I pulled my phone out to reveal a text from Jai.
'He's so sad and lonely without you' It read, accompanied by a very sad looking Luke.
'Tell him to cheer up, I'm the one that's alone haha x' I replied sarcastically.
'That's made him worse x' Jai replied, making me laugh a little.
'You'll be seeing me next Saturday anyway ;) x' I replied, kind of lying since I hadn't even asked or booked plane tickets yet, but I didn't want to see Luke sad.
'YAYY!' Jai replied, with a selfie of him and Luke looking very overexcited which I had to save to my phone.
The train journey ended, quicker than I had expected, and I got off, making sure I hadn't left anything behind. My mum was sat in her car in the car park, a grin on her face as I opened the door and jumped in.
"I've missed you!" She exclaimed, pulling me into a hug and kissing my cheek about 5 times.
"I've missed you too, Mum." I laughed as she finally let go.
"How were the boys?" My mum asked with a smirk on her face, making me giggle. "And Danni of course! Going on holiday with them 5, good luck to her is all I say."
They're all fine." I laughed. "Shame they can't make the party but oh well, I'm sure it'll still be great." I said.
"I'm sure too." My mum smiled at me before focusing her eyes back onto the road. In all truthfulness I'd of rather of gone with them to Germany but I guess I couldn't let my mum and friends down after all the money and time they had spent for me.
