Ruby's POV

We had introduced ourselves to the other staff members, although there weren't many but that meant we got to know everyone quickly.

"He'll be here in about 10 minutes." A tall brown haired man said, sticking his head through the edge of the doorframe. I had met him earlier and he seemed like a pretty sweet guy, his name was Tim.

"Wait, I don't even know his name." I stuttered, making Tim and Danni laugh.

"It's Jake - Jake Sims. Anyways I need to go to check with the security to make sure they know he's on his way." I smiled and nodded, feeling a mix of emotions about our proper work starting in only 10 minutes.

I left the room and made my way down to the artists entrance with Danni, we couldn't wait to meet Jake but were equally nervous as we had no idea what to expect.

A small crew of about 5 people came in, followed by a teenage boy around our age with dark brown hair, plugs and snake bites by his lip - I must admit he was very attractive but I had to stop my mind from wandering.

"Hi, my name's Danni and this is Ruby, welcome to the venue!" Danni said energetically, sticking out her hand for him to shake. He took hers and then mine, flashing me a cheeky smile.

"Thanks for having me." He laughed as we led him down the hallway towards his dressing room with the rest of his crew.

"The stage is ready for setup whenever you are, and you can begin soundcheck as soon as you like." I smiled from his crew and back to him.

They all smiled back with a nod as they entered the dressing room and we left them to it as they got ready. Not long after we had left to help out at the stage hall he was out and soundcheck began.

"He seems like a lovely guy." Danni broke the silence as we watched him perform. We'd seemed to of ran out of jobs for now until the audience came in.

"Yeah, he does." I smiled back. "Shall we head backstage for when they come back to the dressing room - see if they need anything?" I asked and she agreed as we made our way back.

As he came off stage I went over to see how he was doing, still slightly nervous about whether I was doing my job correctly or not. "Do you need anything?" I asked.

"Erm, some m&m's with all of the blue ones taken out please." He smiled innocently.

"Oh - okay." I said unsurely.

He burst into laughter, a smile wiping over his face. "I'm joking." He laughed, putting his hand on my shoulder.

I tried to shoot him a look of evils but failed as a smile crept over my face. I followed Jake back to his dressing room as we talked about his work and career.

We spent about 45 minutes talking and joking before we realised it was nearly his time to go on stage and I hadn't been working at all - great first impression to the manager.

"Before I go on can we exchange numbers? It's been really nice to meet you." Jake smiled at me. Deep down I knew I shouldn't since I was at work and he didn't know about Luke but I went for it anyway. He passed me a piece of paper with his number on and I returned mine to him.

He went on stage and Danni and I spent most of the night watching from the side of the stage and helping out with the crew - it really was the perfect job so far.

The shift ended and it was finally time to go back to our hotel for the last time as tomorrow we'd be moving into our new apartment! We caught the last running bus to the hotel and headed upstairs, expecting all of the boys to be in the room which they were.

"THE WORKERS ARE HOME!" Beau shouted as he opened the door and swung his arms around Danni's waist, making her giggle.

"How was it?" Luke asked as he pulled me down onto the bed he lay on and pulled me into his chest.

"It was actually really fun." I smiled truthfully.

"And Ruby's found herself a new best friend." Danni said, raising her eyebrows. My stomach dropped, I didn't really want Luke to find out I had basically spent all night with another guy; even if it was just a friend.

"Aww, what's her name?" Luke asked sweetly.

"Jake," Danni laughed, making me mentally facepalm.

"Oo Luke, you have competition!" Jai teased with a smirk on his face.

"Before you go on anymore, we're just friends so shh." I laughed.

"You better be." Luke smirked, tackling me to the bed and tickling me; making me laugh uncontrollably.

After I finally escaped from the tickle torture I went outside to call my mum, promising her I would the previous day. She didn't really sound 100% sure on the idea of me moving in with these lunatics but eventually had warmed to it - thank god.
