Translated stories I like enough to recommend. I review them so expect some spoilers (I try not to spoil major events.)

In truth, this is a sweet story.

A very fluffy story!
Compared to the author's other works about ancient china (that I've currently read), I think this one is the sweetest.
In How to be a Virtuous Wife and Eight Treasure Trousseau, the leads first met when they got married then gradually got to know each other before falling in love. In this one, they met when FL was 10 and ML was 13, so they've known each other for like 5 years before getting married.
It's surprising how the author wrote these 4 books that have similar genres, but are different from one another (it focuses on different things.)
I really like the ML. It was so freaking obvious to everyone (be it the servants or the Empress Dowager) that he was in love. Mans was whipped before he even knew it. He isn't all that innocent, but I never once doubted his love for FL.
As for the FL, I like the fact that she isn't a genius transmigrator who can plan things 10 steps ahead. While she is not naive/clueless, she doesn't understand everything either. She is rational, but isn't overly cautious to close off her heart. The way she interacts with ML is so cute!
I especially love it when she gets possessive and her inner yandere leaks out (ML does as well ahem*)

Also I love FL's family dynamic. Everyone is monogamous and has a good relationship with one another. Since the novel started when both were young, you'd see how they'd dote yet still educate her. Shout out to the Empress Dowager as well!
Flirty dialogue between the leads: (excerpt from Chapter 68)
FL: "I saw a pretty woman."
ML: "Really?" Looks at the woman, "prettier than me?"
FL: "Uh.. that's different."
ML: "How is it different?"
FL: "A beauty like her, I will just see. A beauty like you, I will eat."
ML: "Did I eat you or did you eat me? In my eyes you are the most delicious meal."
FL: "Why not try it when we arrive."
ML: "I already plan on doing so."
That night the two went back to the palace and fought a war.... :)
