If it was me, I wouldn't date a professional gamer. If I had that kind of patience, then I might as well use it to get into Tsinghua University or Beijing University.
Thoughts:
One of my favorites!
An E-sports novel. I love the fact that ML is subtle yet straightforward at the same time. He was never afraid to expose their interactions and relationship to their fans and teammates.
Opposite of him was FL. Even as a newbie in the community, she had already witnessed a lot. Before joining, her ex-bf cheated on her (he was away cause of e-sports), witnessed the downfall of a player first hand, and many more I don't remember lol.
She had a lot of doubts and almost gave up love with players, but ML dispelled that thought.
At first their interactions were funny, then it turned lovey dovey. I love their interactions. They're sweet, funny, and casual. Bestfriends, teammates and lovers.
I also like how it not only focuses on the couple's growth, but also the group's teamwork as well. No one is perfect in this novel.
I don't know shit about games so I can't tell you if it's realistic or not.
Tbh, I am unsatisfied. I wanted more chapters! Although the ending is nice, I wanted to see their wedding, the babies, the grandbabies, more! And we can never forget that common flaw in most chinese novels, the sex scenes. It gets kinda rapey so I tend to skip it.
Still give it a try!
There is also a drama adaptation of it called Falling Into Your Smile.
Personally, I am more attracted to the side characters rather than the ML. They are funny and looks wise, I prefer. The script writers gave huge amounts of personality to them. The graphics of the game looked quite nice as well and both the main and side couple were cute.
However it has its flaws.
The acting was not what I expected, particularly the FL. Her expressions and tone was flat and she was less energetic than I imagined her to be. There were times when the effects made me cringe as well.
There are some parts in the novel that weren't included in the drama and some parts which they made more dramatic than it should've been. Some are changes that I liked and some I didn't like.
Overall did I enjoy the drama? Yes I did, but do I prefer it over the novel? No.
But yeah, try it.
