Title: The Reason Why We Broke Up

Type: Korean novel

Author: 서혜은

Chapters: 7 (with prologue and epilogue) + 1 extra

Description:

My dream was you, Na HaYeon.

Model HaYeon has been in a relationship with actor Taewan for a long time. The love that started at the tender age of eighteen is about to end at twenty-nine.

"Let's break up now, Taewan. Let's stop."

"Why do you want to break up? Are you telling me the love is gone?"

"No, the love isn't gone."

The love had never gone away for a moment. From the moment he walked over with the springtime as his backdrop, it had always been there.

"I still love you."

"Then why?"

Taewan shouted out as if he couldn't understand.

"I don't have the confidence to love you tomorrow."

"......"

"That's the reason."

Me, the one who tells you it's the end even though I said it wasn't.

You, the one who knows it's the end but can't end it.

This love that only gives us more wounds as we stay together...

Will we be able to protect it?

The story was really well written. Despite having only 7-8 chapters, it tackled the depth of the leads relationship and contained character development (long ass novels could neverrr).

I have read the reviews prior to reading the story, but holy shit, it was so freaking sad because of how relatable/realistic it was. The exact scenes could have possibly happened to celebrities or even regular people irl, we just wouldn't have known it.

The story is so good at evoking emotions, though I personally think more glimpses of their past would've hurt me more (idk how I'd cope tbh, I already sobbed with just the climax.)

Like at first thought you'd think that ML is a scum and FL is pitiful, but as you go on, you'll start to see both their sides. And confession, I cried the most reading ML's POV.

This story is probably the most realistic one on the list. Try it!
