Title: Villainess Wants To Turn Over A New Leaf

Type: Chinese novel

Author: Chun Dao Han

Chapters: 114

Description:

Lin Feilu, or better known by her nickname-Green Tea Princess, was the best of all the scheming b*tches that the world had ever seen. She was the Oscar-winning actress among the masses with real life as her stage. Acting coy, slandering, feigning innocence, or playing the saint, she aced it all. Simply put, she was the proverbial villainess.

Ah, but retribution came way too early for this malicious personage and she died on her 27th birthday.

In death, Lin Feilu reflected on her career of 20 years as the Green Tea Princess. She was full of regret and remorse over the life she once led. She vowed, if there was an afterlife, she would atone for her misdeeds and be a good person.

She transmigrated into a five-year-old princess of the Dalin Dynasty. In the name of family, she had a sickly mother disfavoured by the emperor, a mentally challenged and daft older brother.

Her life was constantly in danger, with having little to eat and trying to stay warm.

The living environment was very harsh.

Lin Feilu, who wanted to be a good person: ... You forced me! Sorry, I can only activate my unique skill.

Harem fight? Striving for favor? Climbing the ranks?

Apologies, but let me show you what it means to be slaughtered by a maxed out player.

Note: "Green Tea" is a woman who presents herself as innocent, sweet, and kind but is very scheming and calculative in reality.

Thoughts:

Before I start I want to thank LillyLovesManga for recommending this wonderful story! I really enjoyed it!

Now onto the review.

The FL here is very OP and is kind of a Mary Sue, however she isn't unlikable. I liked the fact that her morality from her modern life stayed the same when she transmigrated, or atleast at the beginning. Reading and watching shows with murder is different from witnessing it irl. And yes, she is a green tea, however there is a difference between that and a green tea bitch.

I don't mind the former, but the latter is a no-no.

(This is how I differentiate the two, a green tea is a woman who's intelligent and cunning but acts innocent in order to get what she wants. A green tea bitch, on the other hand, is a woman who acts innocent in order to get the man she wants, often destroying existing relationships or being the 3rd party.)

Regarding her siblings, I liked the fact that they have different personalities since they were raised by different mothers with different favors. I loved their relationship! They made me laugh countless times and even made me tear at some point.

Her existence didn't really change the normal occurrences in the imperial harem. The only difference was that most characters pamper her.

Tbh I see this story as a slice of life rather than romance. More than half of the novel was focused on her family while the romance REALLY took it's time (I personally don't mind it.)

There is a 2nd male lead that I did not hate, but did not ship either (I did feel bad for him though.) Like I said the romance took its time so whoever she ended up with, I wouldn't mind. Both were great men.

ML is.. well, he kind of became a yandere. He is possessive, maybe borderline obsessive, but the FL knew and still liked that part of him. He is very respectful of her wants, so I like him!

So yeah! It was a very light read. I was surprised that it only took me a day to finish (including the MTL)! The translation was split into multiple chapters, but it was very fluent! Try it!
