This is the first story I have read where ML was actually an eunuch with his penis castrated.
Because of that, when the two of them got together, he became very insecure because he couldn't give her what any other dude can. Y'know? Matters on the mattress sort of thing? In simple terms, penetrative sex.
Since ML is insecure, there were multiple occasions where he pushes FL away for her to experience things he couldn't provide, however at the same time he is very possessive.
FL, on the other hand, is very assertive. The most assertive female lead I have read in a chinese novel so far!

It doesn't just focus on romance, but wars as well. Both ML and FL are ruthless towards their enemies. The both of them are not good but not bad, they border on the small grey area in between.
I liked the quote, "in war, there is no right or wrong. Just living or dying". FL also has a cute maid whom I don't find annoying. Who's really annoying is that princess.

Btw, I think ML is like 20 or less years older than her. Can't be more since it mentioned that ML was in his late 30's and FL was like 20.
