Two families' children were switched at birth. One of the families is a household that does business, and the other is a household of a marquis. There is a vast difference in status.
Unfortunately, Yu Xiang transmigrated as a person that was originally from a business household and was brought up in marquis's residence. As soon as she arrived, the truth about her lineage was exposed, her legs were disabled, and she was still bearing the reputation of "the unlucky star". In desperation, she had to hug her elder brother's thigh firmly and attempt to live her days first. When the original daughter of the marquis's family returns, Yu Xiang will return the position to her.
A few years later, the original daughter returned, Yu Xiang was prepared to leave, but she found that her technique of holding his thighs was too professional. Her older brother refused to let her go!
The marquis concealed his smile with the wine cup: How can his pampered wife, that grew up with him, leave whenever she wants?
Thoughts:
Disclaimer: I don't condone this in real life, but fuck! This was a guilty pleasure.
Warning! Pseudo-incest relationship! Actually both parties knew from the start that they weren't blood related but ehh--
Istg my morals are dropping each day😭 Like, I know I shouldn't like this, but I enjoyed it anyway.
One reason why I liked this was because FL is very affectionate to ML. She is a white lotus, however I don't mind. Unlike the typical villain, she did not harass the og FL and minded her own business. Yes, she caused a butterfly effect, however it was not her fault og FL screwed things up for herself.
She's very spoiled and has a bad temper, however she only causes harm to those who harmed her first. She isn't perfect and often makes bad decisions, but at the same time she isn't unlikeable.
ML, on the other hand, openly pampers FL. He is the typical only-gentle-to-FL male lead, and I liked it! He's not a dense idiot that fell for the og FL's act and actually notices FL's schemes but doesn't comment on it, especially when it was done for him. He's the definition of whipped! But I have to admit he's a little creepy as well.
They are both kind of yanderes (like borderline but not really.) I mean, FL did threaten him and stuff, but no further action. They are possessive of each other. It sounds toxic but I swear they're not.
They support each other, can read each other's thoughts, return the other's affection, etc. Face slapping and political intrigue was also present here.
That's the main reason I continued reading this, affection given by both sides. If only they weren't written like that I would have dropped this forever😭 (I did drop it, but later on gave it another try.)
I actually hesitated a lot whether or not I should recommend it. On one hand I enjoyed it, on the other hand stopping me was my morality.
My poor morals....
So yeah, this isn't a novel for everyone so I understand if you don't want to read it or if you're disgusted with me (I am too), but try it if you'd like. Be warned though that intimate stuff happened when he was like 21 and she only 14 (something common in historical novels.)
It also has a manhua called Brother's Sick Love. The art is really cute but has a light colored palette. I would have preferred the palette to be in darker tone given the themes and stuff, but it's fine.
The art is really pretty and their chibi forms are so so cute as well. As someone who has already read the novel, the manhua was like a summarized version with less details but important information still present. So for those who dislikes reading gruesome stuff, you can read the manhua instead.
**WARNING** Pseudo-incest and events that can be triggering (especially near the ending) are evident. Please read with caution. You have been warned.
