Type: Chinese Novel

Author: Chestnut

Description:

Li Shen's performance in the finals of 《Heavenly Voice》 stole the breaths of everyone present. The judging panel praised him, saying he was 'a man kissed by a goddess.' Li Shen faintly curved his lips. In his entire life, only the woman called Yu Wan had kissed him.

-

Yu Wan didn't expect to return to A City one day after leaving three years ago, and then to run into Li Shen again.

After Li Shen found her, he said, "Yu Wan, can I ask you to plan a wedding?"

Yu Wan asked, "Who are the newlyweds?"

Li Shen replied, "Li Shen and Yu Wan."

Thoughts:

One of my favorite stories in this list!

To be honest, I'm not exactly sure why I love this story the way I do. The plot isn't exactly new or thrilling, perhaps it's because the leads have characteristics I tend to like in characters? What I'm certain though is that this story is one of the novels I reread daily.

I really liked how the author wrote FL as a female lead. She has most of the characteristics I love in a female lead, with some of them I rarely get to see. She's 1-2 years older than the ML, honest about her feelings, smokes (I love leads who smoke lol), not overly dense (she knows but chooses to ignore it), and she's not a pushover.

So yeah, I also liked ML because he doesn't have a cold personality (especially since he's a celebrity). He is like most people in love who wouldn't stop smiling when texting their lover.

Both of them are rational and professional. The fans are cute and mostly supportive as well. Most characters are quite lovable.

There are funny moments wherein FL would compare herself to his fans and feel smug that she had already experienced what they wish to experience.

Example: ML is the top artist fans want to sleep with!!

FL: They want to sleep with him but I already slept with him. :)

Moving on, this is a shared universe with author's other works. I recommend reading Marriage Concerto (A Small Thing Called Love) first as the male lead there frequently showed up here. There are other book leads mentioned as well, but not as much as him (plus I haven't read them yet.)

So yeah, I MTL'd it but it is definitely understandable. Jokes don't get lost in translation and neither do the sweet moments. Try it!
