A contemporary urban crime story about a handsome and charismatic gong that can participate in every event of a decathlon, can shoot someone's head off from a hundred meters away, can dismantle a bomb bare-handed, and loves to show off when he has nothing to do & a shou that is calm no matter what because he's already prepared to meet his end at any time.
Thoughts:
A top tier BL novel.
I have a confession, I had already read this like 6 months ago and took a break because the MTL literally killed my brain cells then totally forgot about this.
Ok, I really like tropes wherein both the protagonists are tall and manly. I like calm, older shou's partnered with gongs who are lively, so it was inevitable that I liked the romance aspect of this.
Also their first kiss left me shook!

One of the many funny scenes:
ML: "Why are you dishonest? Aren't you fond of me?"
MC: "Why should I be fond of you?"
ML: "Because I am the best person in every way. Do you know how animals choose their mates? Only a strong male can stand out in the competition to provide best resources for the family. So atleast in this province I am the person to consider. If you don't like me, then Darwin's theory of natural selection will be overturned. I think this anti-science is less likely..."
MC: "Yan Xie."
ML: "Yes?"
MC: "Darwin's theory is only about natural reproduction, not homosexuality."
Anyways this novel doesn't mainly focus on the romance but all the police shit. I don't really know if it is realistic, but the other reviewers said yeah so I guess yeah?
The action and thrilling scenes really keeps you on your toes as you don't really know what the outcome would be. Despite me already knowing what happened (I read spoilers cause I like being spoiled) reading it in detail still gave me goosebumps.
I was still shocked at the revelations, how it came to be and all that. The twists also don't sprout out of nowhere. Hints were already sprinkled around before the grand reveal.
And the antagonist is actually an antagonist, not a cannon fodder! He is very smart and a true psychopath.
I can't say in detail my thoughts since it will contain major spoilers, but try it! Be warned though, the MTL is very confusing (but easier to read than the previous story I recommended) since it tackles about drugs components, murder and all that.
