Title: The Top Couple is a Bit Sweet
Type: chinese novel
Author: 图样先森
Chapters: 95 + 5 extras
Description:
A certain hot topic: 「Why do Wen Li and Song Yan have so many CP fans?」
The original poster wrote: It's obvious that they've been married for two years, but they do not have any movie or TV collaborations, or variety show shots in the same frame, and I have never seen them interact on social media. The entertainment industry accepts them as a couple with a contract marriage where they are even too lazy to act like they are in love. I am extremely puzzled by why they have so many CP fans. I swear I am not black.
The popular reply: 「CP fan here letting myself in. To clarify for the original poster: They really don't interact much, and their sugar is observed under a microscope. But-
1. In terms of appearance, they are a pair with god-like faces. When our Three Powers was a young newcomer, someone had a YY of what they would look like in the same frame. Afterwards, the picture exploded in the industry. Black Swan x White Moonlight. A huge number of similar personas in the entertainment industry emerged rapidly as food substitutes.
2. In terms of fame ranking, they are both first-tier. They are strong in every sense, okay?
3. There are so many fairy madams in the inner circle. They write fanfiction, draw fanart, and edit videos and photos; they eat grain and eat until they burst. They are reluctant to leave the pit when they think about getting out.
To summarize: No matter how much of a plastic couple people say they are, we will still ship this CP as long as they never announce a divorce!」
Thoughts:
A very sweet story!
As someone who is single and love deprived, I absolutely adored this. The leads were both funny and adorable. This could possibly be my go to novel if I'm sad.
(I honestly did not expect it to be as great as it was)
FL was kind of a tsundere, but it wasn't to the point she becomes super fucking annoying (ahem looking at you anime girls). She's domineering, arrogant, and spoiled, but she isn't a self-centered idiot. She's a feminist icon! I squeeled a ton because of her.
ML, on the other hand, is the greenest flag out there! I don't want to spoil, but know that I want him. Actually, I want them both, the leads are really great lovers. Lord, when?
I really can't describe them other than being sweet. Their sweetness wasn't super cringey or forced as well, which was great!
Side note: I appreciated how the side characters weren't just NPC's. They can actually admit their mistakes and apologize. It's nice to see since the leads are already OP. Having a shit ton of those characters would have just made it super cliche and generic.
Anyways, the novel is quite funny as well! The netizen's commentary was hilarious. I laughed out loud quite a few times because of them. Also the running gag of how the leads made things harder for the director of one of their variety shows was one of my favorites. His reactions were so funny.
Although the main ig "dispute" of the novel was handled kinda shittily, I am willing to overlook it for my beloved top couple.
So yeah, it also has a manhua with the same name and it is absolutely stunning! The art is omg. It's kinda sad tho how they cut the funny bits of the novel, but oh well.
