Panic! at the Arcade

A/N: First of all I'm so sorry for the terrible pun, second of all, this is NOT and xreader this is Sam X Miguel so if that isn't your thing, just skip this chapter

Prompt: Miguel finds the fight at the abandoned laser tag place and defends Sam from Tory because of her panic attack, request for @321Fps

Sam looked furious as she led her fellow students to confront the Cobras after they harassed Chris while he was working.

"What the hell Hawk?"

The Cobra Kais looked up, noticing their rival dojo's presence.

"Oh wow, looks like Miyagi-Do finally grew a pair, I thought striking first wasn't your thing?"

"It's not, but defending ourselves is, and the way you've been treating us certainly warrants some defense."

"Oh? Let's go then."

He lept at her and she artfully ducked and kicked him in the back.

Seeing their leaders fighting, the rest of the students started fighting each other too. Sam and Hawk were too evenly matched and as soon as she could kick his legs out from under him, she ducked into a dark corner to catch her breath. Then she heard Tory.

"Where are you Sam? Come out and face me you bitch. Or are you a fucking pussy?"

Sam's breath got caught in her throat as she saw Tory walk in with more Cobras and she started hyperventilating. Sam was frozen, she knew she should move and help her friends, but she couldn't make herself move. It was like her entire body had decided it wasn't going to listen to her.

As Hawk issued his ultimatum, holding Demetri's arm behind his back, Miguel walked in.

"Heyy guys, look it's the champ himself. Wanna turn?" Hawk turned to greet his friend.

"No actually, you guys need to stop fighting, the fight at the school wasn't their fault. We all played a part in it and all this is gonna do is get us banned from the All Valley, or worse, get it cancelled all together."

"Aww look, he's trying to play nice, did you forget that one of them is the reason you were in the hospital?" Tory turned on him.

"I remember just fine, but I also distinctly remember you starting that very fight Tory."

"I-" Tory was cut off by Demetri screaming in pain as Hawk pressed down on his arm.

"Pick a side Miguel, you're one of us or you're one of them. Choose wisely, we don't give second chances."

"Them, you guys are going crazy and I don't want any part of it."

"I'm sorry." Hawk released Demetri and turned his attention to Miguel who quickly realized what was going on as Hawk took a swing at him, which Miguel blocked. They fought for some time until Miguel threw him into a faux wall and Hawk was too dazed to get up. Miguel started looking around for Sam. He found her huddled in a corner as Tory advanced on her so he threw himself at Tory's legs, taking her down. They struggled on the floor and Miguel finally won when he got her into a headlock.

He got up and rushed to check on Sam.

"Are you okay? Did she hurt you?"

Sam just shook her head, still unable to speak.

"Guys, let's go, we need to go to the dojo." He gestured at Demetri to round everyone up as he scooped Sam up into his arms and carried her out to her car.

"Okay Sam, I'll drive you back but I need your keys, can I grab them from your pocket?"

She nodded, shifting slightly in an attempt to help. He felt around in her pocket and pulled out the keys. Miguel buckled Sam into the passenger seat and made her as comfortable as possible before hurrying around to the driver's side and taking off towards Miyagi-Do.

On the way, Miguel used her phone to call Mr. LaRusso and let him know what had happened. Daniel thanked Miguel for helping and promised to meet them at the dojo.

When he pulled up to the dojo, he went over to Sam's door and picked her up once again. He carried her inside to where her Dad was waiting for them.

"Thank you Miguel, I'm sorry to hear about your friends, but after today, if you want it, you have a place here."

"Thank you sir, but I already have a Sensei."

"I understand, but still, thank you for helping my daughter." Daniel smiled at Migel and clapped his shoulder.

"Miguel?" Sam had finally recovered enough to speak and she called out to him from her little makeshift pallet on the floor.

He practically ran to her and took her hand in his own, "I'm here baby, are you feeling better?"

"Yeah, thank you for saving me, I can't believe I froze like that when my teammates needed me. They almost broke Demetri's arm for christ's sake."

"But they didn't, no one got hurt and now you're all safe."

She smiled up at him and placed her head in his lap. He smiled softly and played with her hair until she fell asleep.
