Newest Recruit (Sam) Part FOUR of Second Chances

A/N: part FOUR of the Sam/Hawk series Second Chances, Sam trains y/n to defend herself after the Golf n Stuff incident. Welcome to Miyagi-Do, Ladybug. Request for @mKay335

You were getting ready to meet Sam at her dad's dojo for your first self defense lesson. She had told you that for this one, you would be at their home dojo since you weren't really joining Miyagi-Do yet. You put on some workout clothes and threw your hair up into a ponytail before heading out the door to drive to Sam's house.

When you got there, Sam was in the driveway waiting for you, so you hopped out of your car and lept into her arms so she could spin you around. After a quick kiss, she finally put you down and said:

"Hi ladybug, are you ready to start training?"

"Yup!" You grinned at her as she took your hand and led you to the dojo.

In the dojo, there were several punching bags and some padded gear.

"Okay Ladybug, here's what we're gonna do: I'm going to teach you some basic punches and kicks so you can practice on the punching bag; and once you get the hang of it, I'll put on the padding and you can practice on me for a bit. When you're comfortable with that, if you want to, we can spar at half speed so you get a feel for actual fighting."

"Sounds good to me."

She led you to the center of the room where the bags were set up and started demonstrating punches and letting you copy. Whenever you messed up, she'd come up behind you and laugh while she guided you through the correct motions. When she was satisfied that you had mastered the punches, she moved on to kicks.

"Okay, so this is just a basic roundhouse, you're gonna put your weight on your front leg and swing your back leg around to do the actual kicking part. This isn't a sidekick so you actually have to swing your leg and use the motion I taught you for the front snap kick, got it?"

"I think so?" You tried to do what she had just shown you and you failed spectacularly, landing on your ass.

"Not like that silly," Sam laughed and helped you up, "Here let me help." She put you into the correct stance and held onto your waist as she guided you through the kick.

"HOLY SHIT SAM! I DID IT!!"

"You sure did ladybug, do you want to try on your own?"

"Oh uh maybe?"

"It's okay if you don't get it right, we have all day."

You tried again, this time you managed to stay on your feet but you didn't quite hit the bag hard enough so you started wobbling.

"That was better," Sam helped steady you from behind and planted a kiss on your shoulder. "How about I help you one more time and if you still can't get the hang of it we'll try something else and come back to this one?"

"Okay, sounds good."

She grabbed your waist again, and narrated what you were doing as she moved you around to kick the bag.

"Alright ladybug, now it's your turn. Remember, no pressure, if you can't get the hang of it we'll just come back later."

You turned to the punching back and got ready, and this time you actually kicked the bag and it worked!

"TAKE THAT BITCH" You yelled and jumped on Sam.

"Wha-" Sam wasn't ready for you to jump on her so you both went tumbling onto the mat, laughing your asses off. "Good job ladybug, I knew you could do it." She smiled at you and you leaned down to kiss her. "Okay, time to get off me, we need to practice a few more kicks before we can move on from the punching bag."

You groaned into her shoulder, "Do I have to?"

"Yup, c'mon, you asked for me to teach you, remember?"

"Ughh but this is more funn" you gave her your best attempt at puppy eyes and she laughed and swatted your ass,

"Up, now. We have work to do."

You begrudgingly got up and went over to the punching bag so she could show you a few more kicks.

The next few kicks you got the first try and Sam decided you were ready to try on her.

"Okay, so you're gonna throw some punches and kicks at me, I'm wearing the padding so you're not gonna hurt me but let's work on staying on our feet, yeah? Oh and also, I'm not gonna punch back or anything but I am gonna try and block a couple so you'll need to adjust for that."

You just nodded and got into a fighting stance.

"Let's begin."

You started circling her, looking for a good place to strike when you saw that she wasn't guarding her left side very well so you aimed a kick at it. It landed and she grunted with the impact.

"I'm fine baby, it didn't actually hurt me, I just didn't think you'd land one so early, but since you obviously have the hang of it, let's do this." She grinned at you and you swung at her again.

After a few more rounds, you decided that you were ready to actually spar so Sam took off all the padding and stepped into the ring.

"Remember, we're sparring at half, you've never actually sparred before so we're gonna go slow and at half strength. This is different from what we were just doing, this time, I'm actually going to be fighting you so you're gonna have to remember those blocks I taught you the other day, okay?"

"Okay, let's do this thing."

Sam ended up winning best two out of three, but you were just proud that you had beaten her once.

"I think that's enough for today ladybug, what do you think?"

"I couldn't agree more." You panted, still on the ground from your last fight.

"How does a swim sound?" She helped you off the floor and you wrapped your arms around her neck to look her in the eyes.

"Swimming sounds nice."

"Mhmm why do I have a feeling that's not in fact what you want to do?"

"Because your family is at the club today and I can think of better ways to spend the afternoon, we can always get in the pool later." You kissed her neck and she tightened her grip on your waist.

"Fine, meet me up in my room."

"Where are you going?"

"I gotta clean this up before my dad gets back or he'll kill me, now get out of here," She laughed at your resistance and pushed you out the door, locking it behind you.
