Painfully Obvious (Eli)

A/N: a bit of Eli x Demetri's sister reader, a sprinkle of mutual pining, and a dash of overprotective brother. Request for @jejwnjwnwjwm (I hope I spelled your username right lol)

I caught myself staring at Eli again. He was the one guy who was off limits, but there was just something about him and how he talked to me. I knew it was wrong to have such a big crush on my brother's best friend but what else could I do when he looked at me like I hung the moon and stars. So here I was, eating lunch in the school cafeteria trying to hide the fact that I was staring at my brother's best friend. I pretended to be doing homework on my laptop and had my headphones in to discourage visitors. That is until I felt a tap on my shoulder.

"Hey y/n, what are you looking at?" Oh great, it was the asshole himself, my brother.

"Oh uh I'm just doing homework."

"Bullshit, what are you really doing? We're twins, remember? I can read you like a book."

"Okay fine, you caught me. I was trying to see if Eli was busy because I wanted to ask him about our next DnD session."

"Is that all?" He raised his eyebrow, accusing me.

"Yup." I popped the p and put my earbuds back in, ignoring the rest of what he said.

As I was leaving the cafeteria, Eli came up to me.

"H-hey y/n, Demetri said you had something to ask me about for our DnD session later?"

"Oh yeah, I just wanted to know if we could do it this weekend or not?"

"Uhh yeah, that works for me."

"Cool, I'll see you later."

He grinned at me and walked off and I had to take a second to cool off my red hot blush. Fuck you Demetri.

POV switch

Eli's POV (surprise! It's someone else's POV O.o)

Demetri had gone over to talk to his sister and I was trying not to stare but I kept sneaking glances at them and one time I think I made eye contact with y/n. It looked like they were having some sort of argument and then they both looked over at me. I flushed at the thought that they were talking about me until Demetri came back.

"My sister has something to ask you about DnD later, I dunno what, she wouldn't say."

"Okay, I guess I'll have to find her later and ask what she needs."

"I guess, no funny business though."

"WHat? What do you mean funny business?" I squeaked, further ruining my attempt at concealing how I felt about his FUCKING SISTER. I was in love with my best friend's sister and I couldn't do a damn thing about it.

"Keep it strictly DnD I don't want her getting the wrong idea."

"Will do."

We ate the rest of our meal in silence until I saw y/n getting up to leave so I decided to follow her and see what she wanted to ask me. I caught up to her and got her attention.

"H-hey y/n, Demetri said you had something to ask me about for our DnD session later?" I silently cursed myself for stammering but it just kind of happened when I was around her.

"Oh yeah, I just wanted to know if we could do it this weekend or not?"

"Uhh yeah, that works for me."

"Cool, I'll see you later."

I grinned at her and started walking to my locker, I can't believe how awkward I was. Get it together man, if you ever wanna go out with her, you need to man the fuck up.
