Wei Ying broke empathy, pulling his hands away from his Shije's and his Uncle's to snap to the boy sitting opposite him.

"You!-" Wei Ying exclaimed, an adorable blush on his pale cheeks, "I passed out before I could hear last time..."

Lan Zhan's ears were red, so in the future, my feelings only grow for him.

Yanli pursed her lips to hide her smile as Jiang Cheng snorted, watching the two boys blush, even Wen Qing and Madam Yu were having issues hiding their amusement.

Wei Ying gulped, "L-Lets c-continue." He stuttered, avoiding all eyes as he took his family's hands again.

Back in empathy, they saw Jiang Cheng holding his brother close, helping him walk since he was extremely dizzy and still feverish. Jiang Cheng scoffed, "Always playing the hero!" He yelled, not noticing the pained expression that his words caused as well as the death grip on his brother's waist and arm.

Wei Ying sighed, "Jiang Cheng, you would've done the same if you were trapped in that smelly cave for a week..." He whined, huffing as he fought to keep his eyes open, "Mnn... I just wanna sleep~"

Jiang Cheng rolled his eyes, yanking his brother forward in annoyance, making Wei Ying gasp and almost fall, "Cruelty Jiang Cheng!" He wailed, pouting.

-Jiang Fengman grit his teeth, "A-Cheng. You-"

-"It's fine." Wei Ying scrambled to say.

Jiang Fengman frowned, but continued to watch nonetheless.

Approaching Lotus Pier, the two home-sick boys fastened their pace even if it made Wei Ying feel sick with all the movement.

Upon arriving, they heard excited shouts and a familiar, warm voice coaching disciples, they smiled.

"Pull the string until it reaches your cheek-"

Wei Ying grinned at Jiang Fengman, "I wanna learn from Clan-Leader-Jiang too!" He cheered, despite already having learned from him.

Those memories are fond ones.

-Jiang Fengman smiled, "Those are nice memories for me too, A-Xian."

-Wei Ying almost wept, "I-I'm glad." He choked out.

Jiang Fengman snapped away from the child he was talking to and faced his adoptive son, "A-Xian." He smiled, breathing out in relief.

Jiang Yanli beamed, "Xianxian!" She cried, waving enthusiastically.

Wei Ying smiled despite the black dots covering his vision, "Shije..." He whispered, powerless to the exhaustion weighing his bones down.

Before he could stop it, his knees buckled and the world turned dark.

-Lan Zhan gasped, "Wei Ying!" He cried in alarm before freezing, his ears bleeding red and he was glad nobody could see his face.

Wei Ying bit back a giggle, instead, let everyone continue to watch.

After having passed out, Wei Ying was still denied rest.

His dreams began as they always did, his parents throwing his toddler body in the air before catching him in laughs, tickling him, smiling at him.

Pure bliss, Wei Ying's heart chipped, Mama... He thought sadly, snuggling into her embrace.

The dream then switched to Wei Ying pleading with his parents not to leave him alone, "M-Mama please don't go!" He wailed, quickly being pulled into her arms.
