FOR THE QUEEN wangxian-

After Wei Ying ate his Wen-Ning-Made dinner, he received another visitor.

This time, it was Lan Xichen who opened the door, having completed his necessary duties, he rushed back to the boy, relieved to see him eating.

As the doors slid apart, Lan Xichen's eyes met those of a young boy, the rest of his face concealed by a fan as if he were a fair maiden wearing a face-veil.

"Nie-Gongzi?" He frowned, stepping aside to let him in.

Wei Ying looked up, "Nie-Xiong?" He questioned.

Nie Huaisang looked relieved to see him healthy, "Wei-Xiong," He smiled, making his way over to the bed, speaking as if nothing had changed, "Scooch over." He nudged him with his fan, ignoring the youngest Lan's glare, something that, days ago, would have made him run away.

Wei Ying laughed ever so softly, shifting back to lean against the wall and the headboard, soon joined by Nie Huaisang, he leaned his head on his friend's shoulder.

This wasn't unusual for them, the two are best friends they know each other better than anyone. They'd survived some of their darkest times with each other, holding each other as the other cried.

Nie Huaisang had aided Wei Ying's Zidian whip wounds and after a long day of being berated by his elder brother and emasculated, Wei Ying had taken Nie Huaisang for drinks.

Without each other, they'd probably be dead.

"Wei-Xiong..." Nie Huaisang sighed, leaning his head on Wei Wuxian's and intertwining their fingers, "I thought we agreed to come to each other when things get tough... we promised to never do this..." He murmured, making Wei Ying's eyes glaze guilty.

Jiang Cheng squeezed his eyes shut, looking away. Young-Master-Nie had spent years comforting and protecting Wei Ying when he failed to do so.

He was also struggling with looking at them both the same way, knowing they had made out just weeks ago.

Lan Zhan glared at their intertwined hands.

Wei Ying sighed, "I know... and I'm sorry Nie-Xiong..." He muttered, rubbing Nie Huaisang's hand.

Jiang Cheng opened his eyes, not wanting to hear his brother apologise again, "Nie-Gongzi, how do you tell when he is lying about how he feels?" He asked.

Wei Ying stiffened, squeezing Nie Huaisang's hand hard, "Nie Huaisang." He called urgently as Lan Xichen leaned on the headboard, resting his hands on it as he stood.

Lan Zhan sighed at the defensive response, at how Wei Ying was determined to keep his shield up, "Wei Ying this is to help you." He murmured.

Wei Ying sat up, shaking his head, his sad expression morphed to something more... closed off and hard, "This isn't about me," He began, "This is about beating Wen- mmn..." Suddenly his words stopped with a hum as Lan Xichen placed a hand on his chest, transferring a shocking amount of energy.

Wei Ying jumped and slumped down, his eyes fluttering closed as a content small smile appeared on his lips and a purr-like sound vibrated from his chest, before his eyes snapped open in shock, "H-Hey!" He wailed, blushing deeply.

Yanli squealed, rushing forward and wrapping him in a tight hug "AHHHH! A-Xian you're so cute!!!" Yanli cried, pinching his cheeks.

Wei Ying sputtered, "Wha- cute?!" He questioned.
