The chapters won't be as short after this.

Wei Ying's throat filled with tears as Madam Yu grabbed him and Jiang Cheng roughly, dragging them to the docks, she gently placed Jiang Cheng inside before throwing him like a ragdoll.

Wei Ying landed with a wince, still barely able to move as blood soaked through his clothing, "A-Cheng," Madam Yu began, taking his hands, she checked his pulse and sighed in relief to find the would that Wen Zhuliu inflicted to be just a minor one.

Jiang Cheng looked up to her, "Mother, what should we do?" He asked as Wei Ying struggled to support himself on one trembling arm, clutching his wounded chest with the other.

Madam Yu was almost shaking, "What should we do? Don't you see they're prepared?" She huffed, "...The fight is inevitable today. Many soldiers will arrive soon, you must go!"

Wei Ying's teary eyes snapped to her, blood coating his chin, "What if Uncle Jiang and Shije-"

Madam Yu slapped him eliciting a cry, "Shut up!" She yelled, jaw shaking with anger, "This is all your fault!" She glared before turning back to Jiang Cheng.

At her words, Wei Ying lowered his head and could no longer hold back his tears, he was in so much pain, he felt so much guilt and his chest was bound so tightly by the invisible chains... he couldn't breathe, he felt like he was going to suffocate.

Those watching were feeling exactly as he did, all were trying their best to get their breaths back but couldn't and soon, most were hyperventilating. In Lan Zhan's arms, Wei Ying whimpered.

Madam Yu hugged Jiang Cheng tightly, allowing him to cry into her chest as he transferred the Zidian to him, "Mother, why did you give me the Zidian?" He asked, hiccuping.

Madam Yu's lip trembled, "It's yours now, the Zidian has accepted you as its master."

Wei Ying seriously couldn't breathe, watching the pain he caused, his chest was jolting up and down for air, beginning him to try, but he knew if he let his lungs go he would just start hyperventilating.

Jiang Cheng sobbed, "Mother, can't you come with us?" He asked, eyes glossy with tears as a single drop of blood trailed down his chin.

Wei Ying looked up hopefully, black dots covering his vision from lack of air, he watched as Madam Yu said goodbye to her son.

He knew this pain all too well. The pain of losing a parent, of being abandoned, and to have inflicted it on someone else, he wanted to die.

-Jiang Cheng was still gasping for air, seeing as he was feeling exactly as Wei Ying was, "I-It was n-not your f-fault!" He cried through erratic breaths and sobs.

-Zewu-Jun was trying his best to meditate and breathe through this, but failed miserably and found himself too hyperventilating. It wasn't a sensation he liked, "Master-Wei h-h-how do you d-deal with this?!" He exclaimed, voice strained with tears.

-Wei Ying gulped, sobbing softly himself, "This?" He whimpered, "This is nothing."

Nobody knew how to respond to that, but all knew they had failed him at some point, in some way. They weren't looking forward to their turn of seeing it.

Wei Ying was worried, if they were sobbing their hearts out at this, at his pain which they felt, other moments may cause qi devastation.

Madam Yu left the hug and Wei Ying thought that was the end of it, until she grabbed his robes and yanked his forward, further splitting his wounds, "You damn boy!" She screamed in his face, "I hate you so much!"
