When Wei Ying felt someone pull away from his empathy, he broke it in concern and looked around to find who had done it.
"Lan Zhan?" He called weakly as Jiang Cheng hugged him.
The Jade turned to look at him with tears falling down his cheeks and red, puffy eyes making a few gasp, they'd hardly seen him cry during empathy, but he was sobbing now.
Wei Ying's heart ached as he sighed, removing himself from Jiang Cheng's arms, he stood and stretched briefly before walking over to the dresser.
From there, he found a soft, silk handkerchief with beautiful blue and grey clouds sewn into it, he smiled softly, walking back to kneel before Lan Zhan.
Wei Ying grinned sadly, looking almost goddess-like with his silky, straight black hair like the midnight sky and his white robes, eyes shiny and love-filled.
He lifted the handkerchief, dabbing at Lan Zhan's wet cheeks, catching the tears that ran down his chin, "Don't cry L-La- Ahh!" Wei Ying squeaked, gasping when he was abruptly hugged tightly.
Lan Zhan wrapped his arm around Wei Ying's waist, tightly, to keep him in place, while the other wrapped around his upper back and cupped his head.
Wei Ying blushed, "L-L-Lan Z-Zhan?" He stuttered, voice feeble and timid, hushed beside the Lan's ear.
And... and it was like music...
Lan Zhan sniffed, "Wei Ying..." He whispered, "I'm so sorry Wei Ying..."
Wei Ying pulled away, eyes big and round as he frowned, "For w-what?" He asked dumbly.
Lan Zhan just smiled, pulling him back in, refusing to let him go ever again.
Yanli chuckled through her tears, wiping them away with her long sleeves, her heart softening. Her little brother was so cute...
They watched as he trembled in Lan Zhan's tight hug, uncharacteristically shy, but wrapped his arms around Lan Zhan's neck to get closer. It was very adorable.
Yanli sighed, "A-Xian," She said softly, moving to rub his back, "Is there anything left for us to see?" She asked.
Beneath her hand, she felt how Wei Ying became rigid and stiff, barely even breathing, before he hid his face in Lan Zhan's neck, his trembles increasing tenfold.
So yes. They thought.
Wen Qing wiped her tears, tightly clenching her jaw, "I'll get water for everyone..." She muttered softly, standing with shaking legs.
Yanli gulped and nodded, "I'll go with you." She smiled at the Wen, linking arms with her, the two left joined at the hip.
Wei Ying sniffed, whimpering when they left, "A-Aside from my t-t-throat..." He stuttered, gaining everyone's undivided attention, "I-It's... it's strange to live without pains..."
