Instantly, there was uproar and outraged yells infiltrating the peace of the room and just as fast, Lan Zhan darted to Wei Ying's side, blocking their view of him with his own body, "It'll be okay."

Wei Ying wasn't so convinced, yet his arms clung to Lan Zhan.

He could protect himself, of course, he could, but... he was so tired of protecting himself.

"You have the missing Yin Iron?!" Clan-Leader-Yao wailed, throwing his hands about, "Why wouldn't you tell us?!"

The situation quite quickly fell out of their hands, it became chaotic with everyone yelling at once, "What are you planning?!" Clan-Leader-Ouyang shouted, his voice straining in his throat.

Wei Ying was beginning to feel like a rabbit trapped in a cage, what could he say? That he came from the future? That had never been done before, and how would he explain how he got here when he doesn't even know who sent him.

"He's dangerous!"

"Wei Wuxian! This is a betrayal against all sects!"

"Restrain him!"

Nie Mingjue slammed his cup down, breaking it into thousands of pieces much like his already young patience, "Enough!" He shouted, his voice booming like a dog's bark through the large hall causing the liquid in the cups to flutter.

Many flinched, immediately silenced by the scary clan leader.

Nie Huaisang giggled as Wei Ying bit back a grin, instead, smiling at Nie Mingjue thankfully before standing and bowing to the hall, "I apologise for having kept this secret, deceiving you was never my intention. I found it... during the war, Lan Zhan and I were searching for ways to overcome the Wen clan when we came across a cave, inside, the legendary Tortoise of Slaughter resided."

When Wei Ying's voice became unsure, Lan Zhan stepped forward and wrapped an arm around his waist, "Mn. When we killed it, it revealed a sword forged with Yin Iron, we figured it was the only way to win."

Jin Guangshan sighed, momentarily combing his fingers through his small beard, "Fair." He nodded, but still looked unsatisfied, "However... such power held in your hands alone, I'm afraid..." He trailed off, but his point was clear and it hit Wei Ying with a wave of Deja Vu.

Grandmaster Qiren for once in his life just barely held back his urge to scoff.

Jiang Cheng pressed his lips tightly together, standing up and taking a stance at Wei Ying's other side as his annoyingly affectionate partner stood at the other, "He is not alone, he is an heir of Yunmeng Jiang." He held his head high, squeezing his brother's wrist.

Lan Xichen nodded, standing with his lover's help and walking only a little shakily to his future brother-in-law, "Yes, and soon, he will be a part of the Gusu Lan sect as well." He smiled at his A-Xian, "-And for the record, we have been looking into ways to destroy it."

As Jin Guangshan's jaw stiffened at those words, eyebrows narrowing just a little, Jiang Fengman portrayed a diplomatic smile and joined his adoptive son's side, "He is also the most appropriate to hold such power." He praised, patting Wei Ying's shoulder and nodding at him, reassuring those watery eyes.

Wei Ying's heart was racing, throat constricting, thank you.

Jin Zixun scoffed, leaving his kneeling position, "Really? What makes him so capable?" He questioned, eyeing the boy in light-lavender who flinched at his harsh tone only encouraging his arrogance further.
