Merry Christmas! I am back, and with a certain chapter you have been waiting for, for a VERY long time ;)

The table they sat around, like children in a ring playing 'duck grey duck had lotuses carved and sanded into the oak. They were scattered around like stars around the moon, the moon being the very large lotus carved into the middle and extending outwards.

On every petal, a delicious meal sat with a heating talisman, ever warm and fresh for the taking.

Wei Ying's cheeks had begun to redden with the influence of the Emperors Smile in his little cup, as he spoke with Uncle Wen about learning how to craft his own liquor. It had been a very peaceful few weeks, normal, even. Wei Ying had been living the life he'd always wanted.

He'd always wanted a big family, now, he had one, he wanted love and acceptance and affection, loyalty, and trust, and now that he had finally achieved it... it felt surreal.

He took his child and fiance out for lunch, he sparred with Jiang Cheng, he cooked soup with his sister, (or stood on the sidelines) it felt too good to be true.

But it was true, he was loved.

Wei Ying smiled, shifting to the side so he could lean his weight into Lan Zhan's arms, relaxing when he was embraced tightly, "Hang-Wangji~" He teased, not quite drunk, but tipsy and playful.

In reply, he received a soft hum that travelled through their bodies and to his heart, filling it with shivers and, and a smile, that caused his stomach to erupt in butterflies, "Ayah Lan Zhan~" He chastised gently, "You can't look at me like that, my poor little heart can't take it."

Lan Wangji's smile only grew wider at his fiance's regular behaviour, tempted to kiss the pout off of his lips but he regained some self-control, and held himself back, instead, refilling his cup of liquor, "Wei Ying is strong."

Wei Ying whined, taking small sips from the cup while continuing to interact with others, teasing Jiang Cheng or laughing with Nie Huaisang.

Soon, though, the bowls were empty and the plates had practically been licked clean.

While servants cleared up, Lan Xichen pulled Wei Ying to the side where the conversation would only be held between the two of them and nobody was within earshot, "A-Xian." He smiled warmly, earning a warm smile in return from the tipsy man swaying on his feet.

"Huan-ge~" Wei Ying giggled, shaking his head at himself and trying his best to pull himself together.

Lan Xichen chuckled, warmth swelling in his chest as he sat gracefully, pulling Wei Ying to sit beside him. He chuckled once more when the boy landed with a thud, "I hoped we could play flute together."

Wei Ying gasped, stars in his eyes, he nodded enthusiastically, "That sounds fun!" He cheered, "Just play, I'll follow after you."

From the sidelines, Lan Wangji watched the two people he loves most in the world get along like blood brothers, and his heart ached with fondness and glee. In another space and time, the relationship between his beloved, and his brother, was tense and perhaps even hostile, but now, now that they've corrected the potential for wrongs, everything was going right.

After a while, Lan Wangji joined them, his zither making a low background noise somehow getting even happier.

With the two people his heart belongs to, they played music deep into the night. Serenading the stars until they went to sleep, and playing a warm wake-up call for the sun.

The following week, Wei Ying found himself in Gusu.

Lan Zhan had to return, as did his brother, and so Wei Ying went with them and was currently sitting in a field of bunnies.
