Yall it's practically confirmed more or less don't come for me that Wei Ying ate corpses in the burial mounds </3 lmao why were you shocked

Wei Ying changed the memory to what must've been a great deal of time later. Not only was he out of the Burial Mounds (looking undoubtedly relieved) but he was dressed in new smooth robes and sadly, even thinner.

But, not only that, the usual crippling fear and agony they felt from Wei's memories were gone. With this new memory, suddenly, all they could feel was nothing at all. Wei Ying was unbearably numb, feelings withered, and somehow, cloudy skies were worse than constant storm clouds and thunder.

-Wei Ying sighed, shifting at the uncomfortable empty feeling, "This was about a day after I escaped the Burial Mounds, I was still in slight disbelief that I was actually free..."

-Lan Zhan gnawed at his lips for the first time in his life, "How long were you trapped there?"

-Wei Ying shrunk slightly, but nobody could see him so he didn't bother to suppress his shivers, "Three months."

-Jiang Cheng jumped, "Three months?!" He shouted in shock, Wei Wuxian had been trapped in that hell for three months?

Wei Ying didn't feel like talking about it, seeing it was enough, so he didn't and just hummed, watching as his past? Self rested in an inn.

For the first time in three months, Wei Ying ate actual food and not corpses, and the relief on his face was heartbreaking.

However, he was still achingly numb.

After filling himself up with food that had never tasted so good in his life, Wei Ying stripped down to his last later, exposing his thin he had become.

Zewu-Jun gasped, wondering how he even lived.

Stretching, a series of sickening cracks made their lungs tighten in discomfort, as Wei Ying groaned in pain.

The resentful energy holding him together was not impressed.

Wei Ying sighed, about to lay down when his stomach churned, fuck.

Racing to the bathroom, Wei Ying threw up into the bathtub, the nearest thing, everything he'd just eaten as it was too heavy and too much on his tiny stomach.

Wei Ying wretched, gasping for air when he was done, he sighed softly once more and wiped this mouth.

Still achingly numb as he made his way back.

Earlier that day, Wei Ying had snuck into an inn and washed, the warm water feeling like heaven on his broken body, and spent hours untangling his matted hair; so now, he just collapsed on the bed and released a moan.

After sleeping on stones and grass, this was delightful.

Wei Ying whimpered softly, almost in tears at how good it felt to lay on something that wasn't solid, instead, bouncy and soft.

Yanli sobbed softly, watching.

Eyes fluttering shut, Wei Ying curled up super small under the covers, bringing them up to his nose as he shivered madly at the cold. Sighing softly, a small smile of relief formed on his cherry lips as he passed out.

***

-Jiang Fengman winced, "A-Xian... I'm so sorry..."

-Wei Ying smiled softly, "You have nothing to apologise for."
