A few days had passed and they were back home, it seems without the Tortoise of Slaughter event, everything ran smoothly.

Well, as smoothly as it could have.

Cloud Recess was alright, they lost a few disciples when Wen Xu was barred from entering but that's about it.

Now, they were approaching Lotus Pier to rest and recuperate before proceeding with the next part of their plan.

Wei Ying was trembling as they walked through the streets, everything was like how it was before and he didn't know how to feel about it.

Instead of flames and chaos, everything was peaceful.

He hadn't been here for years, he lost everything here, the last few months in Lotus Pier was nothing but stress and hell and trying to survive in his own head.

He gulped as he walked past the tavern he had met Yong Zheng in.

All the terrible memories swarmed back at him as he neared the grand entrance, all the times he had to hide to avoid his family and duties, all the nightmares, the arguments... the losses, the abuse.

Even with Lan Xichen, Lan Zhan, Jiang Cheng, Yanli, Jiang Fengman, and Madam Yu to protect him, Wei Ying still felt ice-cold fear running through his veins.

Holding his breath, Wei Ying brought his hands to his chest, placing one over another, they rested on his heart, feeling the rapid pounding beneath his fingers.

As he stepped up to the big doors, his family beside him, Wei Ying's legs felt like they were moving through snow before they abruptly stopped, refusing to move any further.

Jiang Cheng turned, his heart aching to see the terror on his Shixiong's face, "I'm here..." He murmured, grabbing one of Wei Ying's upper arms gently.

Yanli grabbed the other, stroking Wei Ying's back, "Xianxian... everything will be okay..." She promised.

Wei Ying's lips trembled as he stared unsurely at the steps, 'Close the doors and don't make a sound.'

'Didn't you say something about reviving Lotus Pier with me?!'

'A-Xian... do you still want to live in Lotus Pier?'

Lan Zhan shared a look with his brother, wondering what to do as Wei Ying tried to take a step back.

Lan Zhan took a deep breath, walking up to Wei Ying and taking his hands, "Wei Ying... you can do this... I am here, I will always be here..."

Wei Ying blushed, looking up to Lan Zhan's eyes with a teary gaze, he squeezed the Lan's hands, "D-Don't let go..." He whispered, making Lan Zhan smile.

Nodding, Lan Zhan wrapped an arm around Wei Ying's waist, guiding him gently inside, "Mn."

Madam Yu took a breath of relief when Wei Ying finally entered Lotus Pier. She had given the disciples strict instructions not to run up to him, if they were to approach him, they were to be gentle and calm and so all they did was wave and smile at him.

Wei Ying nodded stiffly at the disciples, shaking in Lan Zhan's embrace as they were guided to a large table with food on it.

Jiang Fengman smiled, "A-Xian, we have several levels of spice here, eat whichever one you would like to, once you eat something you can go rest if you would like." He nodded at him, tapping the table a sign to sit down.
