Yanli burst into tears, watching herself leave.
A wave of guilt crushed her, and all she could do was watch the consequences of her actions.
Wei Ying's eyes filled with tears that soon spilt over his trembling cheeks, to his jaw, and down his neck.
His Shije, who would never abandon him, just did so when he clearly needed her.
A sob broke free, a pitiful sob of a broken man making his cheeks burn as he slightly glanced at the Lans watching him worriedly.
He didn't have the energy to care that people were watching him fall apart, and instead, just cried freely, shoulders bouncing, he turned and left despite the pleading, "Wei Ying!"
Wei Ying lived for nobody anymore.
He no longer had the strength to continue if life was just going to keep crushing him again and again and again... and again.
It seems he has some planning to do.
Wei Wuxian had had enough.
He couldn't tolerate how cruel living was anymore.
And so he was going to stop tolerating.
Stop living.
***
Walking through the trees, Wei Ying hyperventilated, gripping his head as panic clawed at his skin, ripping him apart.
The taste of his own tongue started to sicken him, the weight of it made him shrivel with disgust, feeling it tease the back of his throat like Jin Zixun's tongue-
Falling to the floor, Wei Ying bent over some bushes and wretched, throwing up whatever he had in his stomach which wasn't anything actually, crying as he did.
Dry heaving, he had nothing to puke so he writhed, wailing his heart out.
Somehow, the taste of vomit was more pleasant than his own tongue.
When he stood once more, he was pale and shaking more than he had before, not caring for what he looked like, he composed himself so he was only breathing harshly; His breathing repetitive, short and quick, as he purchased liquor uncaring for the looks he received.
Walking through town, everything around him was a blur but the liquor in the jar he downed every time his tongue started to feel too heavy.
Grandmaster Qiren had the urge to scold his nephew, however, seeing as everyone, including Lan Zhan, was feeling even a spec of how traumatised and violated Wei Ying was feeling... he figured that was punishment enough.
Perhaps he would drown in the rivers of Lotus Pier, but then someone would have to find him like that.
Wei Ying sighed, trying to think of a way to die that wouldn't terrorize someone, or at least, in a way that kept the trauma to a minimum.
Maybe he'd leave a note and then flee, killing himself so far away nobody would ever find him?
But would that be cruel?
Isn't leaving in general cruel?
Wei Ying really tried hard not to point out that he had been left first.
