One day later...

Wei Ying awoke to hands combing through his hair and sandalwood enveloping him in a warm embrace. It was a peaceful atmosphere, serenaded by distant wind-chimes and hushed voices.

Like shovels, large slender fingers dug into his aching back, massaging the tension from his shoulders and Wei Ying almost moaned in bliss, slowly prying his eyes open.

He was met with his soulmate's face, he smiled at him, "Lan Zhan..." He whispered, earning a small kiss on his lips.

"Wei Ying." Lan Zhan greeted, hugging him tighter, eyes tender for his heart, "How do you feel?" He asked, legs wrapping around Wei Ying's.

Wei Ying hummed, nuzzling his cheek into the pillow, "A little achy b- wait! Lan Zhan!" Wei Ying sat up abrupt eyes as big as moons as he stared panickingly at his love, "Lan Zhan- Shije!"

Lan Zhan followed him, pulling him into his chest he rested against the headboard, hugging Wei Ying unbearably tight. He was shaking minutely.

It was then that Wei Ying noticed Jiang Cheng sleeping in a bed across from his own, red patches covering the skin on his eyes, his hair being brushed by Jiang Fengman.

Wei Ying tensed, looking around the deafeningly silent room, his heart stopped.

There was Nie Mingjue and Lan Xichen, Yu Ziyuan and Lan Qiren, and all the Wen from his previous life.

Wei Ying blinked, eyes filling with tears as he met eyes with the family, his family, that he had missed so dearly. Granny Wen, Uncle Four, Wen Yuan.

Wei Ying began to shake as the elderly woman slowly made her way to him, sitting on the bed beside him and cupping his face, thumbs stroking his sunken cheeks, "Thank you, dear." She smiled softly, gesturing to her family, "Without you, we wouldn't be here right now, thank you, A-Xian."

Wei Ying whimpered, coughing out a choked noise like ash, "Y-Y-You..." He stammered, the fat tears rolling down his cheeks, soon being chased away by her aged thumbs, "G-Gran- Mrs Wen..."

The old woman tutted, brushing a tassel of hair from Wei Ying's face, "You can still call me Grandma, little one, Granny will always love you."

Wei Ying burst into loud sobs, leaping into her arms and wailing like a broken child into her shoulder, he had missed her so much. She had died for him, for him.

"Grandma grandma..." He whimpered, wrenching sobs as she hugged him tightly, rocking side to side whispering sweet love letters into his ears.

Wei Ying went limp when she kissed his forehead, like a building propped up by beams that snapped he fell into her lap, hugging her neck tightly and silently, incoherently begging her not to leave him again.

Granny Wen blinked back her own tears, hugging this delicate boy like the pile of precious jewels he was, "Granny isn't leaving you dear." She promised, rubbing his back which felt like the ridges of a curvy sword, "Granny will stay and granny will feed you."

Wei Ying giggled tearfully, hiccuping as he sobbed again a second later, a lightweight followed by a heavier one joining the bed.

Wei Ying sniffled as he pulled back only to get the air punched out of him as a small being clutched to him, "Xian-gege!"
