1/1 Ahhhhh I want to bring back the 5000 words for paid chapters thing but right now I'm struggling to write 1000 words every chapter 😩

I'm sure I can bring 5000 words back soon, but for now, it's just 2000

They were approaching the Burial Mounds once more.

Lan Zhan held Bichen tightly in his fist, they had left Wei Ying behind under his adoptive parents and sibling's protection, now, he, Lan Xichen, and Wen Ning approached the mountain of corpses.

With a large group of disciples, they snuck inside.

These were disciples that looked up to Wei Ying, that saw Wei Ying like an elder brother and would die for him, this group of 30 disciples were more than happy to make this easier for him.

They had been briefly informed of Wei Ying's condition and what had happened, they also knew little bits of what had happened in Wei Ying's timeline and like trained, they were ready to defend their home.

Lan Xichen took a deep breath as they walked further into the Burial Mounds, his blade glowing bright blue, "Taking in as much resentful energy as you're about to could be very..." He shook his head, "Wei-Gongzi described it as little pinpricks beneath your skin like... like something is crawling inside of you."

The disciples shivered, but nodded.

Due to the warm temperatures, there are a lot of ants and such in Lotus Pier, they were no strangers to things crawling on you.

"Anything for Dashixiong!" They cheered, "How could we force him to come back here given what happened?"

Lan Zhan swallowed thickly, closing his eyes for a brief moment, how could we force him to come back here given what happened?

They soon reached the centre of the Burial Mounds, struggling to breathe with how thick the resentful energy was as they squinted their eyes.

The resentful energy looked like thousands and thousands of tiny flies all swirling like an army, it tugged their hair all around ruining their previously pristine styles; it was loud... it was so loud.

Shrieks and screams pierced their ears as the loud sound of wind skid past their faces like scratches.

Lan Zhan shook his head, Wei Ying was strong... so fucking strong to have survived this for months and months... and then to come back here?

Sighing, he nodded to his brother, only able to tell where he was judging by the bright glow.

Lan Xichen gulped, squeezing Wen Ning's hand, everyone's hands joined or else they'd get lost, "BEGIN!" He instructed.

The disciples fearlessly lowered their spiritual energy, allowing the eager spirits room to crawl inside.

It was extremely uncomfortable, and despite not wanting their Dashixiong to suffer at all, they were suddenly eager to get back to Lotus Pier so Wei Ying could extract it.

Lan Zhan squeezed his elder brother's hand hard, Bichen unsheathed just in case, he felt the resentful energy lower just a little.

Barely.

With thirty disciples taking in a lot of resentful energy.. This would take maybe... three trips, perhaps four for Wei Ying to get enough resentful energy to bathe in.

The Stygian Sword was currently being forged into the familiar Stygian Tiger Amulet and Chenqing was already being made.

Lan Zhan had taken some bark and branches from these trees to make Chenqing out of days ago, now they just had to wait.
