Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't been active lately. There's a lot of stuff going on at school and I haven't gotten an opportunity to catch up to RWBY and come up with new chapters yet. I'm really sorry about that. I feel bad for not having posted in like a month, so here's a little bonus chapter not really having much to do with Salem and Atlas.

Thanks!

Former Blade Valkyr tapped on the wall. Beneath her mind, where all was calm and none were disturbed, she could feel primal fury and rage smoldering and bubbling like magma underneath the crust of her true self. She looked at the silver Railjack before her. The shield generators on the Steel Gale had been out of power for some time, and the Solaris engineers were debating on whether or not to just get new ones.

She wasn't here by choice. In fact, she was enjoying her retirement from Tenno duties. After her body had been literally peeled apart and sewn back together by Alad V, without anesthetics by the way, the rest of the Blades of that generation had ruled that she was simply too unstable to continue. When she questioned their decision, it turns out that the torture done to her had somehow awakened a primal instincts in all Valkyr Warframes, as if the experiments she had endured forced all copies of the Warframe to act and behave the same way. After they forced her retirement, which she came to appreciate, they replaced her with a promising youngster, Trinity. Valkyr chuckled. That kid was a way better leader than Excal was.

No, the reason she was here overseeing the Dojo was because of another surprising successor to the Blade name. Rhino, her cellmate and later friend, had grown to become the second Blade. Just a few days before the current Blades departed to find their missing member, Banshee, Rhino had requested that she take care of the place in their stead. After all, a clan without leaders is chaos.

A massive arm lowered from the very top of the hangar. It clamped around the busted shield generator and began to pry it off. The metal screamed and moaned as it scraped against the bolts holding it together.

All of a sudden, flashes of the past began to flicker through Valkyr's mind. Excruciating pain on her flesh. The feeling of being torn open to test her ability to heal. A raging itch all over her body, as if hundreds of worms were inside her, eating away at her. A hand grasped around her shoulder and she whirled, claws ready to tear apart whoever it was behind her.

It was stopped easily when they struck glass that seemed to be harder than diamond. "Valkyr," said the swordmaster, Gara, "This really isn't a good place for you to be."

The cat-like Warframe retracted her claws and turned back towards the Railjack. She said nothing. Still Gara, kept talking, "Both you and Blade Rhino dealt with a ton of trauma after the Gas City. You two still have high sensitivity to loud sounds. If you don't leave then you could end up hurting one of the workers here."

"Rhino asked me to watch over the Dojo while the current Blades were gone. Part of that is watching the state of repairs inside," Valkyr said emotionlessly.

"You know full well that when you're granted high class authority, you're allowed to assign people to tasks," Gara replied, hand on her hip.

The former Blade looked at her over the shoulder, "Please. After I was sent to retirement, everyone here thought that I was a batshit crazy girl. I had attacks on any Corpus mission. Some of the Tenno even thought that I was only here because I got special treatment. I hated them, but I came to understand that getting rid of the source of the problem is the best way to keep a community calm."
