Damn I was away for like four days and suddenly this story has gained 20 views lol. Thanks! have fun with the new chapter! This one was a bit weird, since I did it at like 12 AM lmao.

The Grimm leapt into the air, but Skye's eyes were focused on Yang. The girl's normally energetic and lax demeanor was gone, replaced by a calm, ready, serious face. A normal person would have been shaking with fear at the Grimm, but Yang was focused, her purple eyes unwavering from the beast.

The Beowulf brought it's claws down, ready to rip her to pieces. In the last moment, Yang jumped forward, her fist making contact with the Grimm. For a short second, Skye was confused. She didn't understand how punching the Grimm would kill it, until a split second later, she heard a faint click, followed by the loud crack of a shotgun shell. The Grimm flew through the air, an enormous hole now in it's chest, before it evaporated into the datamass it came from.

Skye looked back at Yang, who was now standing, smiling gleefully. The teacher nodded approval, "Very good. A quick hit to the chest should do it. That may not always be the case though. But for today's lesson, that was very well done."

"Heh, it was nothing..."

"Right. Well, Ruby, it seems your teammate here has gained my approval. Have a go at it." The smaller girl nodded, then spun her giant red scythe, taking her stance. Once again, Skye snapped her fingers, and once more, a Beowulf formed and attacked Ruby. The girl spun, her blade catching the Grimm behind the neck, but not penetrating. Skye furrowed her eyebrows, though no one could see. How could a weapon that big and heavy looking not kill a Grimm? Then she noticed the blade was merely pressed against the neck. Ruby pulled an unseen trigger, and a massive BOOM filled the room, the recoil from the sniper-scythe that Ruby wielded pulled the weapon back, cutting through the Grimm.

Skye flinched at the gunshot, not expecting something so insanely loud. However, when she looked back to Ruby, the Grimm was gone. The Tenno turned to the student, who had a confident expression on her face. For a second, Skye was at a loss of words, then recovered.

"Well... that was certainly unexpected. But you've accomplished the task successfully, and I'm sure that the rest of you," she turned to the rest of the class, "will be able to perform similarly.

"Now, for today's homework..." the class groaned. "Well I'm not like some of your other teachers, since I actually know what kind of work to give." She pulled out a specter charge. "You will all be receiving one of these. The button at the top will activate it, and it will respond to sound commands. Your job is to explain how the Grimm attacks, and what its weak points will be. Keep in mind that they are all random, so no looking to other classmates for help. One charge per team. I will leave these up here. Come and get one as you leave."

The class shuffled up to her, some looking at the Tenno with admiration, others with fear or distaste. Skye shrugged. You can't please everyone. Just as the last team took their specter charge, the bell sounded, announcing the end of class.

The Tenno sighed to herself, then moved to sit at her desk, waiting for the next class. She remembered what home was like, near-daily killing of Grineer, Corpus, or Infested. This life, on Remnant... she thought, it's not so bad, at least it's less boring. Skye smiled. She had found a new purpose, and she was definitely going to make the most of it.

Skye stood in front of Ozpin, a little confused, Venari and Claw stalking around her. Around Ozpin were the other teachers, Glynda, Port and Oobleck, already familiar with the event.

"Any questions?" asked the headmaster.

Skye raised her hand, "So, what are we supposed to do at this 'Vytal Festival'?"
