Hi! I'm back!

Clang, clang, clang.

A fire.

Clang, clang, clang.

Cold metal against steelskin.

Clang, clang, clang.

Sparks of battle.

Skye shot awake in her Orbiter, her hand jumping to her dagger. Her private quarters were silent, with the exception of the hum of the generator. The non-living statue of Banshee stood at attention between her fish tanks. The air was cold, and precipitation fogged up her window, but she knew that outside was the Beacon Campus.

"Ordis," she said, her voice slightly dry.

"Yes, Operator?"

"Get me some water. And remind me how many classes I have today?"

A small glass slowly rose from the table before her, and holograms of lesson plans and schedules bombarded her view.

"Too close! Too close!" she exclaimed. The holograms slowed and pulled back some inches. All the screens were arbitrary. The only ones that mattered were the lesson plans and the schedule for the day. Hopefully, she could get pointers from Glynda as well. She stared at the schedule. Three class periods today, each covering a different curriculum. Her groan echoed into the Orbiter.

It had only been three or four months since Third Blade Banshee of the Tenno arrived on an unknown planet. The natives called it Remnant. Because of the customs, Blade Banshee had named herself Skye Zariman, and had obtained work at one of the four Huntsmen academies, Beacon. Big problem incoming: Skye was not the teaching type.

"Mr. Arc... you... what do I do with you?" Skye mumbled loudly as she paced around the room.

The blonde boy sat across from her desk in her office, nervously shaking. He was completely cowed by the tall Warframe which Skye wore. The menacing helmet and highly decorated cape did not help him calm his nerves.

"You've failed to pay attention. You've failed to turn in homework. You even somehow failed to bring the proper equipment to class. Do you remember any of the items I gave out at the beginning of term?"

Jaune replied in a shaky voice, "I... uh-"

"Specter charges. For you to visualize. I can't imagine a beowulf or any other kind of Grimm just with my head. No offense, but I doubt you can either," Skye stopped pacing around and lazily dropped into her chair, turning to face her student. "Is there anything I can help you with, Jaune? I've seen you in other classes and you may not be as incompetent as you think."

The boy's armored hand tightened as he looked down at his knees. Skye fidgeted with one of the ornaments on her desk. "Don't think Ozpin chose the wrong person to lead your team. It took me a bit but his belief in you has some merit. Something is obviously holding you back."

"I... It's complicated..."

"I have more than enough time on my hands." Still, Jaune sat with a pained look on his face. He was still keeping his mouth shut. An awkward silence took over the room. Eventually, Skye just sighed. "Well, as your teacher it's my responsibility to ensure that you're doing the best of your ability. Just because it's hard for you right now doesn't mean I'm gonna go easy on you. But if you ever need help, I'll be here." She waved him off. Jaune clumsily stood before grabbing his things to leave.
