Part 4: United, Then Broken Once More

Longest chapter in a while, its close to 3k words. This episode of RWBY was pretty impressive, and the Cinder V Penny fight was cool to watch. 

The Mandalorian S2 Finale was so goddamn hype. Can't wait for S3.

Amity Colosseum rumbled as Pietro activated the launch codes. Below it, Penny was busy in a cave setting up a bomb strong enough to thrust the Colosseum into Orbit. Skye hovered outside with her Itzal, standing guard in case of an outside threat. Ruby and the others had returned to the slums to take care of Nora. Her mind flashed back to three years ago, the last time she had seen the Colosseum, during the Beacon Vytal Festival. Adam, who was now dead, defeated her. The entire city was ravaged by Grimm and Sentients, and the same was probably going to happen here. She had failed her students. It wasn't going to happen again.

Her hand tightened around her massive Centaur melee. The weapon's two prongs hissed as toxic fumes came off of it. Atlas will be different, she thought to herself. Determination gripped her heart.

"We're ready for launch," Penny said through comms, before flying out and headed up to the Colosseum to join Maria and her father in the control room.

"Skye, aren't you coming up here?" Maria asked.

"No, I'll stay out a bit longer. If I see anything, I'll give you a heads up, then head back."

"Well alright then. Let's get going!" Pietro said, as jolly as ever. The bomb in the cave blew up, the resounding explosion just as loud as that of a Grineer crewship being destroyed during Empyrean missions. The force of the blow pushed Amity up, slowly at first, before speeding up as the Gravity Dust added its own power to thrust it into the atmosphere. Skye followed, slowly lifting herself higher and higher with the Itzal.

Everything was going smoothly so far, but she didn't let her guard down. Things can happen during a mission like this, and she wasn't taking any chances. That was the reason why she had decided to swap to a far deadlier Warframe, Gara. The colors of the glass armor of the Warframe were a pale, ashlike color. She had colored her skin silver and black, a memento to her teacher back home, who used Gara primarily. There were parts of her fashion that really never changed from Banshee however. Her shoulders and legs still held the Dex Raksaka armor, and her chest still displayed the elegant twilight sigil glittering on her chest, the symbol of the third Blade, once belonging to her predecessor, Valkyr. Her scarf fluttered in the wind as she flew.

Amity flew higher and higher into the sky. From afar, Skye could see the quiet, twinkling lights of Mantle below, and the grand, bright glow of Atlas. To think that something so chaotic would look so peaceful from above, she thought. The hum of the stabilizers died down a little, marking that they had reached proper broadcasting range for the rest of Remnant. She turned at the sound, her eyes darting around, trying to find any sign of trouble. She was on edge today. Stealth missions always can have something go wrong. And it looked like she was right. A bright streak blazed towards the outer wall of the Colosseum, before colliding and melting through, followed by a small commuting ship. The stabilizer next to the hole flickered out of power.

"Shit," she growled. She sped forward, and blinked as fast as she could with her Itzal, going as fast as she could towards the hole. She rose to find Cinder and Penny. Cinder crouched on the ground, a malicious grin on her face, while Penny had been slammed into the floor by the unstable Colosseum. Behind, a ship carrying a short girl with pink and brown hair, along with Emerald, hovered in place. The two girls hopped out of it, ready to fight.
