Is it the same for the Tenno?

9 days until we return.

The General turned just in time to block the cold blade from cutting him in two with a new prosthetic right hand. "Miss Zariman, what do you think you're doing?!" Ice crawled up his arm, threatening to completely freeze it.

"I should be asking you that same question!"

In the corner of her eye, Skye saw Harriet try to make a move.

"Don't even think about it," she snarled. The Ace Operative narrowed her eyes, before dashing forward towards Skye. Yellow electricity trailed behind her as she used her semblance to try and catch the Tenno off guard. For a second seemed like she would have been able to take care of her, and Ironwood relaxed a little. Mistake.

The entire room shook violently as a Sound Quake rumbled through the building. The General stumbled back, and Harriet, still in her high speed run, staggered at the sudden shaking. Skye smoothly turned around and pointed her Nikana at Harriet, and launched her parazon at Ironwood. The cable wrapped around him, binding him tightly. She slashed her sword, her hand flipping it around so that it would strike with the back of the blade. A loud crack! Resounded through the hall as a severe frostburn and bruise appeared on Harriet's ankle, followed by her foot being encased in solid ice.

"I told you not to try it. Now stand there at attention like a good soldier while your General and I have a nice chat," she said, her voice as ice cold as her blade. She turned and yanked Ironwood towards her with her parazon.

"Now, General. I want to know all about your plan to save Atlas and leave Mantle to die."

Another Ace Op, this time, Elm, stepped out to try and confront Skye, but a powerful soundwave knocked her back before she could react with her semblance. The Tenno turned to the General, "Well?"

Ironwood stared at the empty, emotionless helmet before him. "Can't you see?" he said coldly, "The largest Grimm horde anyone's ever seen, combined with alien forces that we know nothing about, is hovering on the outskirts of Mantle. If she chooses to invade, Atlas will fall, and she'll have both the lamp and the staff. If we want to stop her, we'll need to sacrifice Mantle."

Behind her helmet, Skye's eyes narrowed, "You know, I had just started to respect you and your willingness to work with Ruby and the others. And now you're throwing that away."

"Your respect is a lot less important to me than winning against Salem."

The parazon sparked against her wrist as the natural electricity from it, often used for hacking, flared for a moment. "Losing your humanity... and for what? A victory?" She said quietly, before looking at the limp corpse of the middle aged man. She laughed sadly, "No, you lost it a while ago."

"I'm willing to do what it takes to win, to save Remnant."

"No!" Skye shouted, "What you're doing is dooming hundreds of thousands of people to save your own sorry ass! A leader doesn't save himself. He saves the people."

"And I'm saving Remnant!" he shot back, "What's a few hundred thousand lives going to be in comparison to saving the planet?!"

For a second, Skye debated telling Ironwood that even if he got high into the atmosphere, the Sentients would still be able to invade, but at that moment, the Tenno realized that Ironwood wasn't backing down from his decision. Her parazon loosened before retracting back up to her wrist and disappearing. She clenched a fist tightly. "There are some prices that aren't worth paying, even if the return is victory, General. And I'm sure that morality is one of them."

"I disagree," Ironwood said, stone faced.

A dull hiss disappeared from their ears as Skye's sword was sheathed. "I can see that," she spat. She walked back and reached the end of the hall, before stopping, "When this is finished, I'm coming for you."
