The next part of this story will be the last one of part 4. RWBY V8 has ended, I think, and so I will be working on other things, such as Ten Pillars, and maybe another crossover.

Skye soared over the kingdom, keeping Sonar on for as long as possible. Strangely, she saw nothing but the scared people of Atlas hiding underground. Every so often, she'd glance back, watching the Wanderer and where she last saw her friends. The fires from the Mantle riots were still glowing, heating the semi-empty tundra. What's become of this place? Skye wondered to herself.
The students should be preparing the escape plan now. There was no communication in her comms, meaning no one had started yet. She hovered, restless. There were no Grimm. Was it because of Salem's temporary death? It's impossible that no one was afraid. General Ironwood had promised to nuke their home, after all.
A crackle came over her ear, and she smirked in response. Trinity asked, "Is everyone in position?"
"All good here," Oberon said.
"Same," Rhino replied.
They waited for a response from Nidus which took a moment. "Ah! Y-yes, I'm here. Sorry, I'm not used to this."
"That's fine, just keep calm and wait for us, kid," Saryn said neutrally.
"Good, and now, we wait."
"Um... Cephalon Cy?" Nidus nervously called into the empty ship. The lights turned on suddenly, and a red collection of shapes appeared in his vision.
"Welcome aboard, Tenno," the monotone Cephalon said. The Railjack hummed to life as it's numerous systems activated. "Preparing the launch sequence. Estimated time until completion: 30 seconds."
Upon hearing that, Nidus froze, "Oh shit..." His hand flew up to his ear, activating comms. "Guys?!" he cried. Short period with no response.
Trinity answered, "What is it?"
"The Railjack is launching without my input!"
"Tch," Trinity ground her teeth, desperately thinking. If the Railjack launched, then Ironwood would know of Tenno's involvement in this mission. Then again, Banshee had already expressed her distaste in his plan, so he would probably assume that the rest of them shared her thoughts. She bit her lip and made a decision.
"That's fine. Order Cy to keep the ship afloat for a few minutes. Make sure you're out of range of Atlas weapons, or have your shields up."
"A-alright."
Just as he disconnected from the call, gateways opened up. The eldest Blade smiled, before turning to the people of Mantle. What they saw wasn't her normal armored self, but a young girl with maroon hair pointing at the portal. "Let's go everyone, it can bring you to safety.
All around the city, the Huntsmen and Tenno directed the civilians into their new travel system made using the Staff of Creation. None of them actually stepped inside, however. They had to stay in order for them to board their Railjack after all. Still, each of them protected the civilians as best as they could.
