The New War!!!! This chapter essentially matches the point where the Warframe Lore currently is. So a lot of what's going to happen probably won't match with whatever decision DE makes. However, we still have a lot of stuff to cover for RWBY, so stay tuned! Sorry for the shorter chapters recently, I've been running low on ideas for Skye in RWBY V3, but soon, there's going to be a few big things coming along with the Fall of Beacon!

Enjoy this chapter! -DrySkeleton

The Excalibur pointed to her head, then to it's own.

"Y-you want me to... perform Transference?" The Excalibur nodded. "Um.. okay." Skye extended her consciousness to the Excalibur. When her mind touched the link to the Warframe, she was surprised to find a return of emotion and humanity where any other Warframe would have been empty. She saw images of a Dax soldier, an Orokin executive, an Infested body. She saw the sequence she had seen in her dream, of this Excalibur screaming in grief, the Orokin executive coming, and the Sentient attack on this Excalibur.

"Lua gives you power, Umbra, but you cannot defy your creator." said the executive.

"Umbra... that's your name?" Skye asked within Transference. A series of affirmative emotion transferred through the link.

"A self-aware Warframe. Who would've known?" Umbra didn't respond.

"Why did you help me?" Umbra's memories flowed through Skye's mind, and she saw a baby, then a boy, a teenager, then a grown man, wearing a suit of Dax armor. The love and affection Umbra felt was unmistakable, and at the very end, she saw an image of the Dax's body, bloody and mutilated. The sudden wave of guilt and grief washed over Umbra, before returning to his normal state of mind.

"Seeing me in person reminded you of your son?" again, she felt affirmation. Warmth and sudden happiness filled her, a feeling that only Margulis and the Lotus have managed to make her feel.

"Wow... I-I'm honored." Umbra responded with amusement, before he expelled her from his mind. She woke, Umbra still in front of her. He turned to the body of the Stalker, then turned to Banshee, and dragged the empty Warframe to Skye. He gestured to the Warframe.

Skye transferred. Once she was in full control, she looked around at the stadium. The crowd was covered by protective pieces of machinery, but everyone could still see them. The civilians stirred in confusion, and many of the students in the stands stared at Skye, wide eyed. There was no doubt they knew that she was no older than sixteen. She sighed. I guess you can't plan for everything.

Umbra grabbed her wrist and the Stalker's body, then led her to the nearest exit. Skye looked back towards the stadium. It was almost time for the next match to start. Umbra dragged her and the Stalker to the Whispering Woods, then sat, looking to Skye in question.

"I-I don't know what you want." Umbra nodded, then put his hand on his chin, thinking about how he would communicate. His head raised slightly as he thought of the solution. He drew his black Nikana. Skye nearly gasped at how beautiful the weapon was. The blade was a clean gold color, with no signs of rust or wear. No scratches were found, which would have told her that it had been sharpened before, and it gleamed so brightly that Nef Anyo would probably want to have his personal quarters decorated with this material.

Umbra stuck the beautiful sword into the dirt.

"Ah!" Skye dove at the blade, trying to keep it from being blemished. Umbra looked at her, wondering what the hell she was doing. He pulled it out again, showing her that the blade was perfectly fine. Then he drove it back into the ground and began to write in the Corpus trade language.
