Salem sat in her private chamber. Right outside, the Sentient bodyguards floated there, unmoving. War floated right next to her communication Grimm, a floating jellyfish-looking creature with a shining, bulbous head.
Earlier, she had prepared numerous Grimm for a massive assault on Atlas. Though it had taken a long time, she knew that in the end it would be her victory. At least, until the Sentient guard barged into her room.
"What are you doing? Get out!" She said angrily.
Instead the Sentient floated toward her, chiming. It reached out a bony limb. Salem backed away, unsure of what the creature was doing. When it saw that she wasn't going to comply, it chimed and shoved the limb into her stomach. For a moment, there was a dull pain, and then, the world went black.
"The forces you prepared aren't enough," a voice said in the black.
The Grimm witch put a hand on her face, trying to ease the painful headache. Two massive fingers picked her up by the shoulders. When she regained focus, she saw Erra, leaning down at her.
"How...?"
"Your army will be decimated in your attack."
Salem narrowed her eyes, "And how do you know this?"
The Sentient commander grunted, "I know many things, like how you plan to assault Atlas with one massive army of Grimm, and how you will fail because of the people present there."
"And who will cause me to fail?"
She could've sworn that Erra was smiling at her.
"Why, the Tenno, friend, the Tenno."
The students stood nervously at attention, while the Blades stood across from them. Ironwood waited for the last of the students to get comfortable.
"Alright, so you've been training with the Ace Ops as of late, but I think that a little specialized combat training could help you all go a long way."
Ruby scratched her head, "How do you mean?"
His chair rolled back as the General stood and walked up to them. "I believe that training with the Tenno will do you some good."
Immediately, all the students thought back to the monster of a training session between Saryn and Skye. They all grumbled.
Ironwood chuckled, "Don't worry, these won't be like the mock battles between Tenno, but rather they will be tutoring you on the use of your weapons."
This time, Ren stepped up, "But... we've already mastered our weapons."
Saryn laughed, "Not to our standards, kid."
The General nodded, "While I won't deny that you are all very proficient with your weapons, there's always room to be improved. I'll be pairing you with a Tenno who matches either your fighting style, or weapon type." He began calling out names, until each student was matched with a Tenno. With Trinity, was Ruby. With Rhino was Yang and Nora. With Skye was Blake and Jaune. At Oberon's side was Ren. Standing next to Saryn was Weiss.
"With that, you can meet with your personal tutors at the training room in twenty minutes."
Trinity twirled her Cassowar, waiting for Ruby to finish getting ready. That's the girl who has the big scythe, right? I guess Ironwood chose me for her because I'm so used to polearms. She thought.
