"So, considering the similarities of your two classes, I've decided that we will be able to occasionally put students to the test. Glynda, you will watch the students during combat, and Miss Zariman will see how they put her teachings into use," said Ozpin.
"When will this take place?" asked Skye. This would certainly be interesting to see, a combination of actual combat and the theory and strategy behind it.
"I don't see why we can't hold it sometime soon, so how about the day after tomorrow? I expect both of you to be in Glynda's classroom, and I expect you two to announce this to your classes today, understood?"
"Of course," the two teachers responded, and headed to their respective classrooms.
"Before we start class today, I have a few announcements," Skye said to her class, "In two days, we will be joining Professor Goodwitch's class, where we will see how you perform in both what she and I teach. This exercise will be graded, with Professor Goodwitch grading your form, aura manipulation, and athletic ability. I will grade your ability to abuse opportunities, your reactiveness to failed attempts, and the combative strategy you employ, such as feints, baits, or any other form of deception. Questions?" A few hands went up.
"Will all of us be tested?" one student asked.
"Eventually. This may take a few days, so I suggest those who don't go first to use the extra time to practice and study."
"What should we bring to class?"
"Weapons, your combat gear, maybe a book or two if you get bored, and homework you haven't finished. Anyone else?" No one raised their hands. "Great, let's get started with class."
Two days passed faster than a Gauss running full sprint mods, and Skye knew how fast that could be. It was 6 or so in the morning, and Glynda and Skye sat in the former's classroom. The students haven't woken up yet, and so the two teachers simply met up in the classroom, both unsure what to do. The silence between the two was uncomfortable, with Glynda constantly checking her scroll, and flipping through paperwork.
"What's your history?" the older teacher said, taking Skye by surprise.
"H-huh?"
"The Stalker. When he came, you were shaking. For someone usually so analytical, so level-headed, it was unsettling seeing you rattled so hard. What did he do?"
"Oh... it's nothing special. He just doesn't really like me..."
"It seems like he doesn't like Tenno in general, but judging from the way you reacted, something happened between you two. There's no hiding it, Skye." The Tenno sighed, and put her hand on the hilt of her sword.
"All I have to say is that he took something valuable from me. And what he took scarred me."
"What did he take?"
"Lives..."
"Oh... I'm sorry..."
"It's alright. I know what I'm going to do with him." Silence followed until Glynda gave it another try to understand her colleague better.
"What was it like, living in the Origin System?"
Skye hesitated, not expecting the question, then finally answered, "It was... tiring and boring I guess. In the beginning, it was fun. I felt I had a purpose, I felt like I had all the power in the world, without feeling like there was no room to improve. I studied and trained hard, and that diligence is what awarded me the title of Blade of the Lotus, a position that only four could ever hold at a time, and I was proud to be one of them. But then..." Skye remembered her last special case mission, the Chains of Harrow. Rap tap tap, she remembered Rell's words. "After I finished my special case mission, I realized that there was nothing left for me. I had finished what the Lotus had wanted me to, and my days were spent in my Orbiter, decorating and seeing what colors went well with each other. I reached the pinnacle of power. I owned all the Warframes, Prime or not. I mastered every weapon, from blade to gun. I was of the most exalted in the Syndicates I allied myself with. But when the Lotus sent me on a mission to the Void, an empty realm of unknown energy, I found myself here. And in this new world I want to make a better life."
